BUSINESS SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSE (BSDC)


FIELD STUDY

OBJECTIVES:
 To enhance the classroom learning
 To support the students in contextual and experiential learning

GUIDELINES:
Every student should have taken up field study during fifth semester in the
area of Marketing/Human Resource Management/Business
Development/Finance/Entrepreneurship or any other aspect of business
organization, for example:
a. Market survey for a product or service
b. A study on problems and challenges of small entrepreneurs
c. A study on awareness about various banking services
d. Student satisfaction survey about the quality of education
e. Employee satisfaction survey
f. Any other aspect related to business that can be covered under field study.
1. The Field Study report should essentially include:
a. Introduction
b. Design of the Study
c. Analysis
d. Findings and Conclusions.
MARKS ALLOCATION:
a) 75 marks for the Field Study Report and 25 marks for Presentation of the
Report shall be awarded by the Department.
b) The marks shall be sent to the University along with IA marks at the end
of the Fifth semester.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
This chapter includes the theoretical back ground of the study.
Part A (Optional): About industry – Brief History, Growth and Prospects.
Part B (Required): About subject – Definitions of the terms used,
Importance and other relevant aspects of the subject to the title of the study.

CHAPTER 2: DESIGN OF THE STUDY


 Title of the study
 Statement of the problem
 Objectives of the study
 Scope of the study
 Limitations of the study
 Methodology of the study
 Research Instruments

CHAPTER 3: ANALYSIS
 Title of the table
 Data Table (in figures)
 Analysis of the table
 Inference of the table
 Graphical Representation ( Visual presentation of the data)

CHAPTER 4: FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS


The chapter begins with Objectives and scope of the study to ease the
understanding of the reader.
The findings should be summarized and presented in a paragraph form,
numbering each of the finding.
The conclusion of the project should be given so as to justify the objectives
of the study.

APPENDICES AND ANNEXURES


The copy of the Questionnaire and all other useful material collected from
the organization may be annexed.
In case of finance topics, the copies of the financial statements of three to
five years are to be annexed.
BIBLOGRAPHY
The references made from textbooks, Journals, Newspapers and
Magazines are to be listed in this chapter. The order followed is – Name
of the Author, Edition of the book, and Name of the publisher, Place of
Publication and year of publication.
The source of internet and web sites may also be mentioned with correct
address of the site.

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
 Students may select a topic of their choice from any subject
studied in the BBA course (there is no compulsion that it should be
from elective papers)
 Industrial study tour and short visits to industries report should not
be included in the project report.
 Project reports are to be prepared with computer printout only.
 The font used in your report has to be times new roman size 12 has
to be in double line spacing.
 Pages in the report are to be serially numbered.
 Project reports are to be hard bound and not spiral bound.
 Students should retain original copy of the project with them and
submit one copy of the report to the college.
 College certificate should be signed by the principal and h.o.d and
a separate guide certificate should be included.
 Viva voce examination covers the entire study of BBA course and
few questions are related to project report.
 Viva voce examination marks are allotted as follows:-
