You are required to conduct purchasing activities for your business (create your own business)
in details according to chapter that you have learnt in the class. Please refer to the following
sub points and discuss in details every point stated below.

1. Type of business (service / product / both)

2. Explain the service or product offered to the customers.

3. List all the suppliers in relation to the business

4. Explain your purchasing activities. Please refer to the following points.

i. What is the type of merchandise (basic or fashion) that your business

ii. offered? If fashion explain the period of the purchase of this product.
iii. What is the type of target market? Explain.
iv. Explain in details the buyer (you) duties and responsibilities.
v. Do you have assistant buyer and merchandise manager? If yes then
vi. explain their job duties.
vii. Explain in details your sales forecast in a period of one year.
viii. Describe how you calculate your stock turnover.
ix. Explain how you conduct merchandise plan.
x. Explain how you conduct merchandise assortment plan.
xi. Explain the merchandise classification that you have in your store.
xii. Prepare your assortment plan.
xiii. Explain the challenges that you have face in the buying process.
xiv. Conclusion

2. The report should be typed using Arial narrow font, size 12 and 1.5 spacing with
sufficient margin on top, right, bottom, of the page to allow for marker’s comments. A
relatively high standard of written English is expected. Failure to comply with this
requirement may result in a significant loss of marks. Your report must be clear, concise,
neatly presented, and easy to read. Students must keep a copy of completed report when
they submit their original document.
