EX1200-6-201
SUBJECT
PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING EX1200-6 OIL COOLER FAN MOTOR
[MANUFACTURER CHANGED FROM Parker TO KYB]

OUTLINE
This Service Bulletin is to inform of the procedure for replacing with the new fan motor. Currently, the
fan motor manufactured by Parker (P/No.4669841) is being used. However, the fan motor will be
changed to the one manufactured by KYB (P/No.YA00005829) in the machines produced in the future.
Although the fan motor manufactured by Parker will remain as the service parts for modification, this
Service Bulletin provides the procedure for replacing the Parker fan motor in the current machine with
the KYB fan motor.
Refer to the details of the modification and work procedure on the following pages.

Thoroughly read the safety section in the operator’s manual and service manual before starting the work to
ensure the safe work. Welding work, if any, should only be done by qualified welders.
After replacing the major hydraulics and engines or installing them optionally, be sure to register S/Nos. of
the replaced or optionally-installed devices in Global e-Service (MMR, HR, MME, G-Claim)

Machine Model(s): EX1200-6

⑨ Bleeding air, Break-in, and check for oil leakage
After the completion of the steps up to ⑧, refill the fan motor with the hydraulic oil,
EX1200-6-201
bleed air from the hydraulic pressure system, and perform the break-in according
to the following procedure. At this time, check the fan for abnormal vibration or
abnormal noise. Additionally, check for oil leakage from the fan drive piping.

Drain port
(for refilling with oil)

Drain port
(for bleeding air)

<Procedure for refilling with hydraulic oil>

1. Loosen the plug of the drain port (for bleeding air).
2. Remove the cap of the drain port (oil filler), and refill with the hydraulic oil.
3. Amount of the oil to refill through the port is 380 cc to 580 cc.
4. Install the plug (motor accessory) of the drain port (for bleeding air) after
refilling with the hydraulic oil. (Tightening torque: 22.6±1.0 N∙m)

Procedure for break-in

1. Turn the engine stop switch to ON, perform cranking for 5 seconds, and then wait for 30 seconds.
Perform cranking for 5 seconds again, and check that the fan motor lightly rotates.
If the fan motor remains stopped at this time, repeat cranking again.
2. Start the engine, and check the fan for abnormal noise with the engine idling.
3. After break-in operation for 5 minutes with the engine idling, increase the engine speed gradually and
perform the break-in operation.
4. After checking for abnormal vibration, abnormal noise, oil leakage, etc., raise the hydraulic oil temperature
to 50°C, and check the fan speed.
(Generally, apply the reflection tape to the fan and measure the speed by using the digital tachometer.)
* Fan speed
1380 ± 50 min-1 (Engine speed: 1800 min-1, Fan pump displacement angle: Maximum)
Selecting "Fan control disabled" by using MPDr. or removing the solenoid valve connector of the fan pump
regulator maximizes the fan pump displacement angle.

This concludes the works of this Service Bulletin.
