VI. Participants : The participants are farmers, household members, out-of-school youth,
homemakers, barangay officials and other selected community targets.

VII. Rationale :
Improper waste management greatly affects the environment and the people. Different forms of
waste like corncob, rice straw, sewage and single plastic sachet destroys the environment and
even contributes to the effect of natural disaster like heavy rains. If waste management is not
properly implemented,

VIII. Objectives :
A. General Objectives
1. Improved the yield performance of crop production and protect the
environment.
2. Provide inputs to concerned stakeholders/sectors on the effects of solid
waste in the environment, effects of the climate change and ways of solid
waste management.
3. Provide inputs to the concerned stakeholders/sectors on the process of
producing eco bricks and its valuable effect to the environment.

4. Provide proper knowledge about the appropriate way to apply sewage

disposal to the community of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.
5. Demonstrate the basic techniques in proper composting of wastes from Oil
Palm Fronds strips
B. Specific Objectives (KSA-Knowledge, Skill and Attitude & SMART)
1. Understand the concept of waste management.
2. Practice utilizing waste products like corncob and rice straws.
3. Improved production yield through the help of improved waste products.
4. Provide information about Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003) in
barangay Imelda and Bunawan Brook.
5. To lessen the waste pollution in the community
6. Encourage the establishment of Material Recovery Facilities (MRF)
7. Provide information about the process of producing Eco bricks.
8. Promote the positive effects of Eco bricks to the environment.
9. Produce Eco bricks to be utilize for creating structures.
10. Enhance existing knowledge of farmers in proper sewage disposal.
11. Apply the proper way on how to utilize proper sewage disposal and,
12. Appreciate the importance of proper sewage disposal.

IX. Training Description:

The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) desires to
conduct few activities that plans to promote proper waste management. The Ecological Solid Waste
Management and Utilization Project is composed of five (5) activity designs and is comprehensively
discussed in this proposal. The ASSCAT extension center will facilitated the training and
consultation services. The ASSCAT extension center will provide the training materials and services
for the participants. This project will strengthen the linkage between ASSCAT and Municipality of
Bunawan.

XIII. Sustainability Plan/Mechanism:

Each proposed activity have different sustainability plan/mechanism.
1. Training on Waste Utilization of Corncob and Rice Straw Biochar as Soil Amendment
The monitoring and evaluation team will determine the sustainability of this project.
The selection of members will be initiated by Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and
Technology as linkage/partner of this project. An organization will organize to oversee this
project.

2. Orientation and Training Services Program on Proper Sewage Disposal and its Utilization
The Bachelor in Industrial technology (BIT) program aims to help the different
barangay of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur in providing more knowledge, training and support
technical assistance.
However, the project proposal preparation and implementation will conduct
monitoring, assessment and evaluation in every quarter to the association in terms of the
following:
a. Technical Assistance
b. Safety and efficiency of their waste utilization
c. For improvement and advancement
