To begin this experiment, cut six potato cores of equal length from a potato.
Record the cores’
initial masses using a balance. Use a beaker and pour exactly 50mL of each sucrose solution (0.0M, 0.2M. 0.4M, 0.6M, 0.8M, and 1.0M). Then, place the cores respectively into a beaker containing one of the six different sucrose solutions. Having done so, cover the beakers with plastic wrap. After leaving the cores submerged in their solution for 30 minutes, remove the cores from the beakers and be careful to blot of any excess solution. Use a balance to record their final masses.
