Literary Work
With the candles out, a sudden, chilling presence
surrounds me. I feel very, very cold, feel that there is a
distinct presence of unknown energy beside me. I feel
that I am one with the darkness. The feeling
transforms to one of warmth and acceptance. I remain
in a relaxed, meditative state. Thoughts start flashing
in my mind. They are thoughts that are not my own. --
from “A Family of Spirits”

We attempted a round of emotional truth, a concept

still vague to me. I had been told about it but had
never been trained in it. As such, my companions and I
really did not know how to go about it. I simply
relayed to the spirit what I was feeling at that
moment. I expressed to her what I usually feel
whenever
faced with entities like her. I also described to her how
much happier she would feel after she finally decided
to “cross over.” –- from “Congregation”
Have you ever felt cold in the nape, your hair standing
up for no apparent reason at all? Have you ever
experienced hearing somebody call out your name,
and then when you look behind you, no one is around?
How about hearing sounds, smelling unusual
fragrances and seeing shadows out of the corner of
your eyes, or even feeling like you’re being watched? I
have.
And it all started when I was just seven years of age, or
more than three decades ago. Back then, my so-called
“figments of the imagination” seemed just as real as
fantasy heroes and Disney characters. But were they
really just a “figment of my imagination” — or a
reality.
Critique Essay
I was surprised about the story, when I see and read the title, I thought, it was
fairy tale book, then I search the summarize of the book, it was all about the
traditional myths of Philippines.

The book is author by Tony Pérez and his co-authors are Dion Michael
Fernandez and Michael Marlo Duque. The author and his co-authors has a
group called Spirit Questors, they usually do is Paranormal Activity and they
have a sixth sense called third eye. I can say about the book, that the authors
are basing traditional myths of our ancestor. The author write this radical book
that another generations can read this book and pass to another generations.

It was a pleasure to read this book because I enjoy the story on the book that
relates, to creepy, spooky, haunting, weird and scary stories. The title Stories of
the moon: Adventures of the Spirit Questors is all about the paranormal
activity. “With the candles out, a sudden, chilling presence surrounds me. I feel
very, very cold, feel that there is a distinct presence of unknown energy
beside me. I feel that I am one with the darkness”, this quote from the book,
I’ve already experienced this moment in my life.

I can say that the very good part or positive part on a popular publishing
house, they written our traditional myths or creepy stories from our ancestors
and written by one of the writers of 21st century of our country. And the
negative part or the bad part is they don’t published online because all of us
cant buy a book and the alternative way in order to have a copy of the book is
through online either download or online reading.

Most of the information, I research and I’ve read and I have based on my
literary text was told to them by others from their own encounters; some of the
ideas are incorporated into stories about a deceased family and relatives or
friend, woven into cultural and traditional myths. There is also a touch a faith-
based perspective, which can be viewed either from the point of view of the
living or the non-living.

My perception about the book Stories of the Moon: Adventures of the Spirit
Questors that they are a group of writers and they will go a heritage sites in
Baguio City. They met a friend who showed then the doorway to the
paranormal. As I read the summary of the book, One of the author given the
privilege of being the group’s records keeper. And became privy to a vast array
of information, especially the knowledge and skills he developed whenever the
group did what they call “spirit questing.” Through these duties, he was able
to amass a book, more like a personal journal of sorts, that I would like to
share with others who, like me before, might have a hard time understanding
what their “little figments of imagination” really are all about. This is my
Critique for his work or book.
