Remove/install
1 Unclip ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) or ENGINE 607 in MODEL 176, 246 AR07.08-P-7008ORA
CDI control unit and place to one side with
attached lines
ENGINE 270 in MODEL 117, 176, 242, 246 AR07.08-P-7008MT
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 117, 176, 246 AR07.08-P-7008OLB
2 Remove engine air intake duct (2) together ENGINE 607 in MODEL 176, 246 AR09.10-P-1150ORA
with air filter housing (3)
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 117, 176, 246 AR09.10-P-1150OLB

3 Remove front bumper Depending on version of the bumper

5 Drain coolant at radiator (12) AR20.00-P-1142NKB
Notes on coolant AH20.00-N-2080-01A
6 Remove LH and RH charge air hose (6) AR09.41-P-1311-01AL
Check sealing rings and replace if
necessary.
7 Remove charge air cooler (10) If necessary

8 Remove upper cooler holder (1)
9 Remove fan unit (14) AR20.40-P-5050NKB
10 Detach RH and LH air ducting (13L) from
cooler (12) and remove
11 Detach coolant lines (4, 5, 7) on the RH side
from cooler (12)
12 Detach coolant lines (8, 9) on the LH side The coolant line (9) is only installed for
from cooler (12) vehicles with a dual clutch transmission.
13 Unclip engine oil cooler at the bottom left If necessary
and right on the cooler (12) and remove from
radiator support
14 Unclip condenser (11) on the left and right Installation: Ensure that condenser (11)
from cooler (12) (arrows) is correctly seated in its bracket.
15 Take out radiator (12) Installation: Ensure that cooler (12) is
seated correctly in the rubber mounts.
Check
16 Check radiator (12) for signs of damage When reusing the cooler (12)
If one of the lower radiator mounts is
damaged it can be replaced by a repair kit.
Determine replacement part number for the
repair kit
for installed cooler (12) using the Electronic
Parts Catalog (EPC).
Install new radiator (12) if necessary.
17 Install in the reverse order
18 Check cooling system for leaktightness AR20.00-P-1010NKB
19 Check coolant level and correct if necessary
