Dear Sir,

Sub: Extrapolation of Pile Capacities for Pile Nos. P46 and P7 using Chin’s Method

M/s. Geo Dynamics performed high-strain dynamic test on two r. c. bored piles (P46 and P7)
installed at the above project site. The field tests were conducted on 18th & 19th June, 2011.
Findings of these tests were summarized in our report dated June 21, 2011 (Our Ref.:
H.154.01.2011).

At the time of the testing, based on the data provided by you, it was our understanding that the
design/working loads for piles P46 and P7 were 800 tons and 600 tons respectively and so
accordingly the test loads were 1200 tons and 900 tons respectively (1.5 times design load).

The testing of pile P46 was terminated once the field capacity of 1236 tons with net set of 1mm was
reached at height of fall of 2.5m. Since the net set was less than 3 mm it was deduced that all the
soil resistance was not mobilized and pile still has more capacity than what was activated. Our
CAPWAP analysis indicated that pile had achieved an activated capacity of 1200 tons.

For pile P7 the field capacity of 790 tons with net set of 0.3mm was reached at height of fall of
1.5m. Our CAPWAP analysis indicated that pile had achieved an activated capacity of 916 tons.

On July 20 p information provided

are 1000 tons and 800
8 tons respectively; increasing test loads to

provides optimistic results. CAPW

data of wh ding to Chin’s theory, ultimate pile load is
established

As determiined from Figures 1 and
