DRIVING QUESTION

How can I and my group

members promote the view that
that each and every child is
unique in their own way and
comparing your child with
other’s just because they are not
academically smart or they do
not score a certain level of marks
will not help but only demoralize
you child’s confidence.
• To know the role of parents in
developing/helping a child’s
creativity.

• To know a teacher’s role in

his/her student’s creative life.

• To understand the role of

society/ peers that surround
an individual.

• To know will academics be

ignored while pursuing what
one’ passion.

INTRODUCTION
“Taare zameen par” narrates the story of one
Ishaan who chose painting as the medium to
express his unexpressed self because of his
disability to grasp the proper meaning of words
yet there might be several ishaans who
endured trauma and lost themselves just
because they were different and couldn’t stand
up to the expectations of the people around
them. This movie explores the parents to think
otherwise and give their children a personal
space to grow in their way and let them do
what their heart desires. Everyone isn’t lucky
like Ishaan to have Nikumbh sir in their lives yet
Nikumbh through his approach of treating and
teaching Ishaan implanted in the minds of
millions of parents his principles to deal with
children. He makes Ishaan’s parents and other
teachers realize that he is not abnormal but a
very special child with talents of his own. With
time, patience and care Ram succeeds in
boosting the confidence level of Ishaan. He
helps Ishaan in overcoming his inabilities and
re-discover his lost confidence.
some more
information
related to the
movie

Dyslexia is the central topic and

theme of the film. This film
raise awareness of the issue of
dyslexia, and prompt more open
discussions among parents,
schools, activists, and
policymakers. The beauty of the
narration is that the message
applies to all children – learning
disability or not. How can
creativity not deserve a place in
academics? It also points a very
subtle finger at how we build
conformation in our system
right at the roots.

REPORT

"Har bacche ki Apni khoobi hoti hai, apni

khoobi hoti hai apni chahat hoti hai".This made
us realise to start a research work heading towards
this. For this we also have conducted interviews and
try to connect with ideas of this 21st century people.
The purpose of our interview is to find what student
of our age are thinking or planning to do their lives,
whether their career is related to academics or some
other creative skills, also to find out how supportive
their parents are and how are they helping them in
achieving their goals.
Through this interview we came to a conclusion that
parent’s and children both are trying to cope up with
each other’s point of view and are respecting and
supporting each other’s decisions. If a child wants to
pursue a career in whatever field he/she wants their
parents are supporting them as long as they are as
serious about their academics as well. They are not
pressurising their children. Similarily, on the other
hand children are also trying their best to manage
both (academics and their dreams) side by side so that
they do not disappoint their parents.
INTERVIEW
1. What are your career plans?
• Ayush: I love playing cricket, singing, and I
also create DIY content on youtube. But if I have to
choose one as a career I’ll choose playing cricket.
• Tanisha: I love singing and I hope I’ll
become a singer one day.
• Rishi: I want to be an e-sport player .
2. What is you parent’s preference?
• Ayush: my parents have no problem with me
pursuing my hobbies as long as I keep scoring good
marks in my academics.
• Tanisha: my parents have asked me to balance
both on my own and I am trying my best to do that.
• Rishi: they have agreed with me pursuing my
hobby as my passion as long as I am also studying.
3. Do you want to pursue your passion as you career?
• Ayush: yes, I would surely like to do that.
• Tanisha: yes, I am sure I am going to build
a career in the field I am passionate about.
• Rishi: if I feel like my talent isn’t going to
help me become successful or if it looks very time
consuming to me then I’ll focus on my academics.
4. Do you have any ideal?
• Ayush: yes, I am inspired by my elder
brother who is also a good cricketer.
• Tanisha: yes, I am very fond of Mr
Arijit singh, he inspires me a lot.
Hobbies and interests are major aspects of any child’s
mental or physical development. It’s time we break
from an academic-only culture, allowing young ones to
explore their innate passions. One of the best things
you can do for children is allowing them to discover
their talents and passions as they grow. Whether it’s
through sports, art, craft, music, photography or
gardening, engaging the minds of young ones outside
the classroom is key to fostering untapped creativity.
Pursuing interests and hobbies is the shortest path to
self-discovery. Allow your child to pursue his or her
hobbies and interests; you will not regret it. There are
some great personalities who themselves were dyslexic
but still they are great known.
•Albert Einstein
•Pablo Picasso
•Steven Spelbeirg
We have seen and heard success stories of so many people
around us who were not very brilliant in academics or even if
they were but they chose their passion and now they are at
pinnacle of success. One such example that we have chosen
is of Mr M.S Dhoni, former international cricketer who
captained the Indian national cricket team for several years.
Here are five takeaways for parents based on dhoni’s life
story:

1. LET YOUR CHILDREN FOLLOW THEIR DREAM

Mahi came from a modest background. His father was a

government servant and he wanted his son to have a good
education to secure a respectable government job when he
grows up. But Mahi was more interested in sports. When he
was asked to play for school’s cricket team, his father initially
opposed. But when Mahi’s mother and sister supported him, his
father also decided to support him. Thus, the journey of one of
India’s greatest player started with his family’s love and support

2. EDUCATION IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT -PARENTS

SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT CHILDREN DON’T
IGNORE STUDIES WHILE ACHIEVING THEIR
DREAMS
While Mahi was playing his cricket, his mother and sister
made sure that he studies as well. His father was very strict
when it came to study. On his father’s insistence, he
completed his exam papers before travelling to another city
to play cricket tournament during exams.

This teaches us how education is equally important to become

successful in whatever career we choose. Education gives us the
required knowledge, understanding and confidence to excel. His
parents’ determination of providing sound education must have
helped Mahi to take right decisions in his career.

3. KNOW YOUR CHILD’S POTENTIAL

While his father was ready to get satisfied with Mahi playing
few Ranji matches, his mother was sure Mahi wanted more
than that. She was aware of her son’s potential and knew that
he would not be satisfied with so less and would crave for
more.

How correct she was in knowing her son’s potential at

very young age!

4. BUT EVEN IF THEY FAIL IN FIRST FEW

ATTEMPTS, DON’T STOP THEM DON’T EVEN
FORCE THEM TO FOLLOW YOUR AMBITIONS
After playing state cricket for 3-4 years, Mahi could not make it
to India’s national squad. Though his parents did not stop him
from cricket, they forced their desire on him. Sometimes it
becomes necessary for parents to understand not to force
their desires on their kids. Even children fail in first few
attempts, don’t discourage them. They feel more dejected and
demotivated.

5. SUPPORT THEM IN SUCCESS AND

FAILURES, LIVE THEIR DREAM WITH THEM

Finally Mahi could not take it anymore and left his railway job
to fulfil his cricketing dream. When he asked his father to give
him one more year to prove himself, his father agreed. His
father could now understand his frustration and decided to
support him in following his dream.

And later what happened is the history we all know. He went

on becoming one of the greatest player of all times. His parents
prayed for him in each match. They enjoyed his success. They
faced wrath of people for his failures. They lived his dream with
him by standing with him in high and lows.
