The Philippines is surely rich in culture as this country is one of the
most linguistic countries in the world. It is simply because of different tribes
that are residing in our country and their beliefs that are different from each
other. With this prior knowledge, I, myself, will be able to set a goal of
studying literature involving each of our region's different representative
texts and then teach it to our young focus so that they will be able to obtain
insights into our literature.

I can help in preserving and promoting our Philippine literature by

using it as a medium in teaching Philippine history and motivating every
child about the lessons and learning that can be found in our literature. In
this way, I will surely be able to share my knowledge about different
representative texts in every region of our beloved country Philippines. I
can also boost the reputation of Philippine literature by posting something
on social media that contains information about different cultural beliefs that
can be found in the said country. With this, I am not only able to preserve it
but instead can also boost its reputation so that the whole will be able to
know that such a country does exist.
Here are some inspirational videos that has the qualities we need to preserve and promote
different representative text in every region of our beautiful country Philippines.

LET US DO
1. What Filipino traits and culture are evident in the text "Indarapatra at
Sulayman?
 The Filipino traits and culture that are found in the text " Indarapatra
at Sulayman" is that Filipino's are brave people, they fought for
justice, they fought for their co-human being, and they are passionate
to their beliefs. Filipino people believe in supernatural, they believe in
monsters, they believe in duels, they believe in superpowers and they
believe enchanted weapons and magic. The royal bloods believe that
a strong warrior and savior will be worthy to be married by their
daughters or princess of the kingdom or tribe.
2. Why is it important to know the literature and authors of the different
regions in the Philippines?
 It is important to know the literature and authors of different regions in
the Philippines because it is a way to recognize they culture or
nature, it is a way to acknowledge various authors that contributed in
Philippine literature. Also it is essential in preserving Filipino culture
and promoting them through teaching and spreading information
about how colorful the Philippine literature is and how wonderful their
beliefs are.
3. How will you show that you value out local authors and their literary
works?
 I believe that buying one of their books or availing one of their works
is not the only way in showing support to locals. It is not the only way
to show if I value them or not. What if I don't have allowance to buy
their works, what if I don't have the capability to avail their books and
what if the books that they sell is already sold out. In this situation,
the best way to show how you value their works is through reading,
reading it in the library, acknowledging their feats and supporting
them by giving good feedbacks about their works. In this way of
showing support, it'll be enough to say that you value their works and
supporting them is enough to say that local literacy is a valuable
asset.

21st Century Vs Traditional Literature before the Colonization era.

The literature of the Philippines is known for being one of the most
colorful literature in the world. This country is consists of over a hundred
islands, each with its traditions. Before the Spaniards discovered the
Philippines, the nation itself already had its literature. During their reign,
Spaniards colonized the Philippines and taught people their customs,
beliefs, religion, and other practices. They also introduced their literature to
the Philippines.

Philippine literature was already beautiful even before the

colonization by other countries. We have rituals, tribal beliefs, we worship
Gods, and we were able to trade goods. We do have our literacies as well
as folk dances, folksongs, and folk stories. We also have our means of
communicating with others, whether it's through ancient methods like
having birds transport our messages or requesting the tribe's messenger to
send a word from us. We Filipinos have our own stories and legends. We
also have epics from before we were colonized, when we were able to
survive by farming and hunting. This suggests that our literacy was already
exceptional before the arrival of colonizers from another country.

On the other hand, a lot of things alter both during and after
colonization. It has an impact on how we live and how we think. Various
tribes have different cultures and beliefs, and this has resulted in a diverse
range of civilizations and beliefs. We have evolved a systematic style of
thinking, and we are now more knowledgeable than we were previously,
thanks to technical improvements. We can now perform things on our own
that we were before unable to do. Our oneness, however, is intact. We
assist one another when we are in need, and we strive for the common
good. Folk dances, music, and legends are still alive and well. We Filipinos
never change, despite the addition of new literature to the list. We are
strong people who are united in nature since every Filipino is beautiful in
their own right.

Francis Magalona's "Mga kababayan ko" song is a heart-warming song. It
indicates cooperation and love for yourself and your own countrymen. This
song states contentment, be happy of what others have achieved in life,
don't be jealous to them but instead be motivated and do your best to not
be left behind. It also states that a person must be proud of what they are,

What I Can Do

Sophie is a young girl who works in a hat shop. Then she met Howl, who
turned her life upside down. The hateful and cruel Witch of the Waste
changes her into a 90-year-old lady because she is envious of their
relationship. Sophie sets off on a journey aboard Howl's spectacular
moving castle in search of a way to break the enchantment, which leads
her to a new life of wonder and adventure. When the actual potency of
Howl's wizardry is revealed, Sophie finds herself trying to protect them both
from a terrible sorcery battle that threatens their world.

This is a personal review of the story Howl's Moving Castle that explores
the differences between a written work and its adaptation. The adaptations
producer and directors have made huge changes in the scenery of the
movie, the uniqueness, creativity, and art were also affected. The purpose
of changes in the story from its original was to keep the viewers in
suspense, especially those who have already readen the novel. They will
keep guessing what will happen in a situation but eventually make a wrong
prediction as the director changed it into something more thrilling story they
have in their mind.

Some things were changed for artistic reasons, while others had to be
changed since books and films are two different mediums. While the
cinematic version of Howl is continuously engaged in combat, the novel
lacks similar conflict. Throughout the narrative, Howl spends a lot of time
avoiding battles, and if one did happen, he'd depart immediately.

Sophie, the protagonist of the novel, is a different psycho who has been
mentally ill for over a year only says it like it is but also avoids conflicts by
meditating. She's obstinate to a fault, inquisitive, and hides her fragility
behind a wall of vulnerability. Throughout the film, she appears to be more
sympathetic, compassionate, and even childlike. She also possesses a
powerful magical skill, which will reveal later in the story. Her words have a
magical effect on mundane items like her hat. The most noticeable
variation between the novel and the adaptation is the look of the fire
demon. In the anime, the Witch of the Waste is stripped of her skills,
changed into a new witch, and adopted by the protagonist's little family as a
grandmother figure. While in the original piece which is the novel, the Witch
is a lot nastier, more aggressive figure but later on, was killed by Howl's' as
the end and the story's finale.

I can say that the movie Howl's Moving Castle anime adaptation is indeed
beautifully made, marvelous, creative, and artistic. Even though there are a
lot of differences in the original story and adaption, it has still a very
wonderful flow and situational settings. I applause the animators of the
story as they've created a very attractive movie and the director who
directed the staff as this movie adaptation is a successful and world-class
movie.
My Reflection

As a student, studying is vital to us as it gives us hope

and assurance in life. Studying may be hard but it's fun...
yeah, for sure it's fun. We might face hardships,
challenges, struggles and problems while we are studying
but all of this will be worth it, through this experiences we
learn, we learn something new, we gain knowledge and
the most important of all, we gain experience. As I study
the subject 21st Century Literature in the Philippines and
throughout the world, I can say that I truly am lacking... I
learned a lot, gain a lot, experience a lot, I face a lot of
problem but I continue to move forward as I know myself
that all of this'll be worth it. 21st Century Literature is a
colorful subject. You will learn different kinds of literary
works from it and it will also enhance your knowledge in a
certain literary work.

I would like to say thank you to my beloved and

beautiful 21st Century Literature subject instructor Ma'am
Arlene L Espina for helping me in learning this subject,
for encouraging me to continue moving forward and for
understanding my difficulties during this pandemic. Even
though I haven't meet you personally, I could say that
Ma'am you are a very kind and loving teacher, without you
teaching us, correcting us, and guiding us we will not be
able to learn anything. Thank you again and may God
Bless you.
