1. Which intake can I join?
1. For Year 11 O-Levels/IGCSE/OSSD Students final examination sitting in:
a. November 2021: January and March 2022 intakes
b. June 2022: July, August and September 2022 intakes

2. For SPM Students: April and July 2022 intakes.

2. How is the Special Scholarship 2022 awarded?

The Special Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship based on 2 criteria:
1. Achieves 70%/Grade A or above for at least 4 subjects in the school’s Year 11/Form 5 trial
examinations.
2. Actively involved in Extra-Curricular Activities (online participations are taken into
consideration) in the form of any of these 3 categories (Year 2019 - 2021):
• Clubs & Societies
• Competition & Events (Participation, awards, etc.)
• Community Involvement or Initiatives / Startups

3. Why is this Special Scholarship so special and different from the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance
Scholarship?
This Special Scholarship 2022 is a guaranteed scholarship based on your trial results and extra-
curricular activities. It is awarded to you even before you get your actual results!
The Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship is awarded based on your actual results.

4. If I get better actual results in my SPM or IGCSE/O-Level/OSSD, can I upgrade my scholarship

amount?
Yes, you can upgrade your scholarship to the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship, whichever higher.
You will need to submit the Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship form along with your actual result
statement and Identification Card to Student Life Department. The additional amount upgraded will
be disbursed from the 2nd semester onwards.

The application deadline: 2 weeks after commencement of programmes or 2 weeks after the
release of actual results.

5. How is the scholarship deducted?

The awarded Scholarship takes the form of a tuition fee deduction (to be implemented from the 1st
semester onwards) and does not cover general fees, exam fees, re-sit or re-enrolment fees and
accommodation fees, which must be paid by all scholarship recipients where applicable.

6. What is the condition for maintaining the scholarship?

You must obtain a minimum of 4As (A+, A, A-) in your actual results.

7. Can I transfer to another programme?

Yes, you may, please write in to specialscholarship@sunway.edu.my for the Change of Programme
Form. However, please note that the amount awarded may change and is subjected to the Special
Scholarship Committee’s approval.

Sunway College Special Scholarship 2022 (SS22)
Terms and Conditions:
1. The Sunway College Special Scholarship 2022 (referred to hereafter as the Scholarship) is offered
strictly to full-time registered students for Pre-University and Professional Accounting programmes at
Sunway College.

2. The awarded Scholarship takes the form of a tuition fee deduction (to be implemented from the 1st
semester onwards) and does not cover general fees, exam fees, re-sit or re-enrolment fees and
accommodation fees, which must be paid by all scholarship recipients where applicable.

3. The Scholarship recipient is required to pay the enrolment fee of RM700 (non-refundable) upon
acceptance of the Scholarship by a given period by Sunway College, and the balance of the fees due
(after deduction) on or before the commencement date of the programme, failing which the
Scholarship will be considered null and void.

4. Recipients of scholarships and bursaries from other bodies are not eligible for the Scholarship.

5. Special consideration for later intakes may be given to students attending Student Exchange
Programme when accompanied with proof of documentation. Please write in to
specialscholarship@sunway.edu.my with the proof of documentation.

6. Sunway College reserves the right to review the Scholarship awarded on a semester basis. Scholarship
may be withdrawn, in the event of gross misconduct, failure to meet the required academic grades, or
withdrawal by the recipient.

7. For students who are eligible for several forms of discounts by Sunway Education Group or Sunway
Group (e.g. Staff Discount, Sibling Discount, etc.), the awarded Scholarship will be applicable on the
net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the relevant discount/bursary and NOT
on the total sum of the tuition fee.

8. Sunway College reserves the right to involve the Scholarship recipients in interviews, advertisements,
photography or other publicity-related activities for the purpose of promoting the educational
institution.

9. Sunway College reserves the right to alter, add or delete any of the terms and conditions of the
Scholarship scheme at any point in time as and when Sunway College deems necessary. In the event of
a dispute on the eligibility for the Scholarship, the decision made by the Scholarship Committee is final
and no appeals will be entertained.

10. Any transfer of programme will be subjected to the approval by the Special Scholarship Committee
and the Scholarship quantum may be reviewed.
