I. LEARNING SKILLS
A. Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC)
Formulate recommendations based on conclusions
B. Objectives
1. Define recommendations
2. Write actual recommendations

II. INTRODUCTORY CONCEPT

● Findings are the principal outcomes of a research project; what the project
suggested, revealed, or indicated. These are the results of extensive and
careful analysis of the data gathered by the researchers from their sources,
whether primary or secondary. Findings are one of the most important parts of
a research because it approves or nullifies the hypotheses of the researcher.
● Conclusion is the summary or synthesis of the key points of the study. It is
usually based on the findings of the research. This part of the research enables
the researcher to formulate his recommendations.
● Recommendations are arguably the most important part of the analysis
phase—this is where the researcher will suggest specific interventions or
strategies to address the issues and constraints identified in the assessment.
Recommendations are based on the results of one’s research and indicate the
specific measures or directions that can be taken. For example, a clinical study
might have implications for cancer research and might recommend against the
use of a particular hazardous substance. Therefore, implications signify the
impact of one’s research and recommendations might be concrete
steps/actions that the research proposes. Recommendations should be one-
sentence, succinct, and start with an action verb (create, establish, fund,
facilitate, coordinate, etc.). They should use a “SMART” format (Specific,
Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely). Each recommendation should be
followed by a few sentences of explanatory text. In addition to being “SMART,”
recommendations should be feasible.

III. ACTIVITIES
A. Practice Tasks

especially one put forward by an authoritative body
______________ 4. It is the process of breaking a complex topic or substance into

______________ 5. A conclusion reached as a result of an inquiry, investigation, or
trial.

Practice Task 2
Directions: Read the following statements and identify if it is an example of findings,
conclusion, or recommendation. Write F for findings, R for recommendations and C
for conclusions.
____________1. There are more households earning the total monthly income
ranging from Php 11,000 – Php 14, 000.
____________2. The government must create more job opportunities and impose
policies that may lead to the uplifting of the parents’ living standards

with the frequency of seventy- eight percent (78%) and 60-69 years
old is the lowest with the frequency of eleven percent (11%).
Practice Task 3: Let’s Write
Directions: Read the following conclusions and formulate your recommendations.

Conclusions:
Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions were
drawn:
1. Students spend more time browsing their Facebook account
than doing their homework first.
2. Ninety percent of the parents do not ask their children if they
have homework so they cannot monitor if the students are
doing it.

homework at school, so they end up cramming.

Recommendations:
1. _________________________________________________
2. _________________________________________________
3. _________________________________________________

B. ASSESSMENT: LET’S SEARCH!

Directions: Conduct a short survey within your household members according to

your preferred topic. Make a conclusion based on the findings of your
survey and from those conclusions, formulate appropriate
