1. What is pattern multiplication? Draw the pattern of 2 point sources separated by λ/2

3. What are the condition to be satisfied if the secondary lobes to be eliminated entirely?

Determine cyclotron angular frequency, cutoff voltage for a fixed Bo and cutoff magnetic flux
density for a fixed Vo.

16.a. An end fire array consisting of several half wave length long isotropic radiators is to have a
directive gain of 30. Find the array length and width of the major lobe (i.e. beam width
between first nulls). What will be these values for a broadside array? (15)

16.b. A two cavity klystron amplifier has the following parameters. Beam voltage V0 = 900V, Beam
current Io =30mA, frequency=8 Ghz, gap spacing in either cavity d=1mm, spacing between the
two cavities, L= 4cm, effective shunt impedance Rsh=40kΩ. Calculate electron velocity, dc
electron transit time, input voltage for maximum output voltage. (15)

