that of the Russians in which the three-kiss greeting is also acceptable between men.
Write an etiquette rule from Mexico that is similar to the ones mentioned in the article.
Like the Russians in Mexico, people greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, which does not have
to be direct, only from man to woman and from woman to man, a sign of pleasure when meeting
or seeing someone.
Write an etiquette rule from Mexico that is opposite to the ones mentioned in the article.
unlike in Scotland we don't usually rent clothes for occasions like going out and don't wear skirts,
at least not if you want to look normal.
Write 5 sentences summarizing the article using the modal verbs seen in class. Write the modal
verb + main verb in bold.
In India you should know the rules of etiquette when eating in a classy place.
In Scotland you can wear a rented skirt but you should wear underwear for hygiene reasons.
Do research about interesting/unusual traditions from a country of your choice. Write a 500
words essay where you describe their unique manners and traditions. Don't forget to use modal
verbs.
Many people are attracted to Mexican culture but do not fully understand it, confusing things with
other things and behaviors especially because of the difference between people from the north
and the south (just to mention one example). Listing some customs that foreigners consider
strange would be the tacos, because they think they love them but do not consider that anything
you put on a tortilla and fold it can be a taco, that a great variety of dishes use lemon or if they do
not have it we use it ourselves when eating, that many of our celebrations worship or pay tribute
to death and that these same celebrations include religious worship and are the basis of the
moments of joy to celebrate with those we love. Many of these traditions are attractive to those
who do not know Mexico, but in keeping with the way we venerate our ancestors and the religion
we believe in, we always accept anyone from anywhere as long as they show respect and interest
in us.
Record a 5 – 7 minute video where you talk about your findings on exercise 4 and compare them
to those from Mexico. Don't forget to use modal verbs and comparative and superlative forms.
