organising such a change in diet and a reduction of food would need to be controlled by
a dietician, which would incur further costs. In order to improve fitness levels, people
could choose to walk or cycle to work or to the shops rather than taking the car. They
could also choose to walk upstairs instead of taking the lift. These simple changes could
lead to a significant improvement in fitness levels.
Every time you are physically active, whether you take a walk or play tennis, your body
releases mood-boosting chemicals called endorphins. Exercising not only helps you destress, it
also protects against heart disease by lowering your blood pressure, strengthening your heart
muscle, and helping you maintain a healthy weight.

People can use exercise to stifle the buildup of stress in several ways. Exercise, such as taking a
brisk walk shortly after feeling stressed, not only deepens breathing but also helps relieve
muscle tension. Movement therapies such as yoga, tai chi, and qi gong combine fluid
movements with deep breathing and mental focus, all of which can induce calm.
