1. Cite what specific contribution CWTS, as one of the NSTP program component, can

contribute in helping the people in the community? (15 points)

- The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), is one of the three components of the

National Service training Program, a civic education and defense preparedness program

for higher and vocational educational students in the Philippines. CWTS activities are

contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for the members of the

community or the enhancements of its facilities, especially those devoted to improving

health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation, and morals of the

citizens. It is intended for extensive community exposure through implementation of

 community and projects which develop students' value of commitment and

resourcefulness.

2. Discuss briefly what do you think is the purpose of the NSTP Law of 2001 of giving all

incoming first year college students an option to choose from any of the three (3) program

components? (15 points)

- The purpose of the NSTP Law giving an option to choose from any of three program is

the chance to learn, because its a program that aimed at enhancing civic consciousness

and defense preparedness in the youth by developing ethics of services and patriotism

while undergoing training in any of its three components. It also recognizes the youth’s

vital role in nation building and develops their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and

social well- being.

3. What is the basis of the government to enact the NSTP Act of 2001 otherwise known as RA

9163? (15 points)

- The basis of the government of why they enact the NSTP Act of 2001, is to help and

nurture the youth’s physical, moral, intellectual, spiritual and well -being , on how they

will serve the country and community, how to be responsible citizens. It also ables the

youth to be prepared for military training, literacy, civic welfare which is beneficial to

national development. A well prepared youth, the most important resource of any nation

is of great value in as far as national development is concerned.

4. Discuss briefly the importance &/or relevance of NSTP in your course & in

community development? (15 points)

- The importance or relevance of NSTP in my course is it helps me to become a

responsible citizen and promote my physical, mental, spiritual, intellectual, and social
 well being, when it comes to the relation in community development it helps create a

good impact because it possess patriotism and nationalism

5. Our nation is in crisis due to COVID 19, our people are suffering, how can you then as an

NSTP-CWTS students help solve or be part of the solution? In what way? Please give specific

example (20 points)

- Since the crisis due to COVID 19 is now more dangerous , as a student the only way that

I can contribute is to coordinate and follow guidelines. Since I always go to the city, and I

am much more prone to viruses, as well as I need to go home safely and the only way

that I cannot affect people or my family is to be responsible to myself by disinfecting

my stuff and myself. When it comes to being patriotic, as a student I need to respect

others opinions, and to avoid spreading fake news. It should instill in my mind and heart

that I am a good Filipino citizen because it show respect and love to our country, co

Filipinos, and especially to the environment.
