The "Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" is not an ordinary drowned man story.

In this story, while

the children were playing, a man washed up on the shore but it's not just an ordinary man, he's big, tall,
giant, and handsome unlike the men living in their village. When the people take him to a house an old
woman came and she said that he looks like someone, Esteban. They named him Esteban. The women
sewed him clothes because nothing can fit him even the tallest men's holiday pants, the fattest ones
holiday shirts nor the shoes of the one with the biggest feet. Amused by his huge size and beauty, the
women started sewing clothes for him. Esteban's physical features and appearance are unrealistic and
impossible. Later on, people started planning for his funeral.

One of them adopts him as their relative. They mourn as if he was their family. While mourning, they
wonder what life Esteban has if he lived in their village, the houses need to build larger and doorways
wider and taller in honor of Esteban. Then the people realize something, that it would be great if they
change theirs into something magical, where they started transforming their village to be a
remembrance in the memory of Esteban. Esteban, the drowned man have so much influence on a town
of village people. "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" shows different themes such as
isolation, culture, and transformation.
