Hypothesis: the PH 7 will be the optimum PH for amylase enzymes, when they have

PH change in solution the enzyme activity also will change, before the optimum Ph
for amylase, when Ph increase the enzyme activity also will increase, it means the rate
of reaction will become fast, however after optimum Ph the enzyme will be
denatured, and the enzyme activity will decrease.
Independent variable: PH level of solution
Dependent variable: time of reaction the time that the changing of iodine colour from
brown to yellow.
Control variable: temperature of surrounding and amount of reactants, concentration
of solution
Method: 1. We need add 500ml water into the beaker and place it on the tripod.
2. we need put a tube into the water and put 5ml starch solution and ph buffer in
order to change the ph of the solution.
3. after that start use Bunsen burner to heat the water as the temperature arrive
40degree, add 2g amylase into the solution.
4. count time of reaction.
5. after that replay method 1-4 by different ph.
In order make the data reliably, we need replied the experiment more than 3 times,
remove the special values and calculate out average. identify anomalies
