talented local artists and bands.” (Itchyworms, 2016).
Itchyworms is one of many legendary OPM artists such as
Parokya ni Edgar, Mayonnaise, Franco, Silent Sanctuary,
Imago, Slapshock, Moonstar88, Gracenote, Hale, Rivermaya,
UDD, Soapdish, Orange and Lemons and many more whom up
until now is actively producing songs and performing in the
music scene. Silent Sanctuary entered 2019 with a new song
“Di Ka Mahirap Mahalin”. Last year, the band also released
two new songs called “Dambana” featuring former Imago
vocalist, Aia De Leon and “Never Good Enough”. After a ten
years break, Orange and Lemons decided to continue and
protect the band’s legacy in the OPM scene last 2017. The
band released a new album last 2018 called “Love in the Land
of Rubber Shoes & Dirty Ice Cream”. This 2019, they are
having a mini tour in some selected cities in Canada from
February 20 to March 3. Also the veterans Mayonnaise
dropped their seventh album, ‘Gusto Ko Lang Kasama Ka
Palagi’ last November 2018 during their 16th year anniversary
gig at 12 Monkeys. They also have their album tour,
#GKLKKPPDPTOUR in different cities and province of the
Philippines with their Yellow Room Music co-artists. The active
presence of these legendary OPM bands in the Philippine
music scene is one proof that OPM is still alive and it is never
dead.
