I. Course Description:

This course deals on the comprehensive study about the nature of teaching in the specialized field in the Philippine setting. It is useful to the
education students taking courses in the methodology of teaching, philosophy of education, and educational laws. It is an interdisciplinary course
whereby students are engaged in learning techniques in teaching in the specialized field; and it provides background information on the importance
of education in the society. In educative process the teacher must possess desirable traits, amount of professional training, years of experience and a
sound philosophy in life.

II. Course Outcomes:

1. Provides an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the concepts of learning and teaching, principles of learning and teaching, and
instructional decisions and processes
2. Demonstrate the decision-making skills relating to appropriate selection of the instructional objectives, instructional contents,
methodologies and strategies, instructional materials, and instructional delivery system
3. Develop competencies by applying principles of learning and teaching in a particular learning environment and learning situation
4. Develop competencies by identifying teaching strategies and techniques appropriate for a particular learning and teaching situation and
set instructional objectives
5. Show positive attitudes towards teaching specifically in terms of appreciating the dynamics of the nature of learning and teaching
