Research question: why cyberspace social control is important in the new living world?

Background Information

The concept of cyberspace has been described as a widespread interconnection in the new

digitized technology that has changed the lives we live today. Cyberspace has created all sorts of

social networking, interactions, and relationships that have facilitated social interaction both

online and offline (Wikipedia, 2021). This means that once people get into the new technology

of cyberspace, it expands the communication area and space and creates a new living space. The

new living space on the internet that has been created by cyberspace forms a society that

interacts online by doing business, working, relationships, and many social interactions. The

interactions possess serious problems such as cybercrime, cyberbullying, and cyber-attacks that

affect society differently. Therefore, social control is important, as it will help trace the values,

ethics, and policies that will reduce the challenges faced in cyberspace society.

The information gathered from the background information research is related to cyberspace

society's issues and requires social control to make sure that no social harm is done on the

internet. Some of the subtopics emerging from the research are:

 Ethical issues in cyberspace

 Importance of social control

Cyber Warfare Threat Report

The report discusses the danger that cyberspace poses to the national security of the

United States and other countries in the world. The information is about how hackers have

targeted voting systems in different countries, including Ukraine and the United States (Marshall,

2017). The United States and other countries must focus on controlling the social interaction in

cyberspace to make sure that no ethical issues arise. The report points at a resource on Britain's

health service that notifies the users of the problems caused by cyber-attacks.

During my pre-research on social control in cyberspace, my topic did not shift to the

results that I found on the internet. However, I was surprised with the report of hackers putting

their attention on attacking cyberspace and threatening national security. As I continue with the

research, I will focus more on the importance of social control in regulating the use of the

internet.
