List of Leadership Goals

I will develop my leadership in Teaching and Learning

§ GOAL: Encourage student engagement in


science and engineering practices to explain
phenomena or design solutions to problems.
§ OBJECTIVE: Develop and implement at least
one Visible Thinking Skill one semester (short-
term).
§ RATIONALE: Reflects new Next Generation
Science Standards (Links to an external
site.) emphasis on visible thinking skills
§ NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the
subjects they teach and how to teach those
subjects to students.
§ TLMD: Domain 4. Facilitating Improvements in
Instruction and Student Learning.

I will develop my leadership in Professional Development

§ GOAL: Provide appropriate mentoring


relationships for new teachers.
§ RATIONALE: There are many benefits to being
a mentor, including career advancement and
satisfaction (Benefits of Mentoring (Links to an

§ NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are members
of learning communities.
§ TLMD: Domain 3. Promoting Professional
Learning for Continuous Improvement.
§ OBJECTIVE: Serve as a New teacher liaison for
a new teacher that will be joining my school for
the school year 2022-2023

I will develop my leadership in Curriculum

§ GOAL: Ensure the development and/or


selection of curriculum that is pedagogically
appropriate and encompasses strategies for
building conceptual understanding.
§ RATIONALE: Brown and Kane (Links to an

understanding leads to abilities of transferring
skills to new situations.
§ NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the
subjects they teach and how to teach those
subjects to students.

§ OBJECTIVE: Serve as the key stage leader in
the early years-grade 1

I will develop my leadership in Student Assessment

§ GOAL: Use ongoing assessments for school


improvement, instructional improvement, and
enhanced student learning.
§ RATIONALE: Use of DBQ (Links to an external
site.) helps students read smart, think straight,
and write clearly.
§ NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are
responsible for managing and monitoring
student learning.
§ TLMD: Domain 5. Promoting the Use of
Assessments and Data for differentiating
lesson plan.
§ OBJECTIVE: Use results of students’
assessments to help differentiate lessons
