OUTPUT MODELS

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

For this activity, you will be modelling a complete 2 story school building using the DPWH standard design for classrooms.
The complete building model will be divided into three structures (truss, super-structure, sub-structure) to better
understand the analysis process of each structure.

I. TRUSS MODEL

INSTRUCTIONS

1. The geometry of the truss can be found on the S-7 pdf file.
2. In modelling the truss, use SPACE.
3. Model the truss elements along Y-Z plane

II. FRAME MODEL (SUPER-STRUCTURE)

INSTRUCTION

1. The geometry of the super structure model can be found on the following pdf’s
• S-1 – Use this to model the framing plan of second floor beams
• S-6 – Use this to model the framing plan of the roof beam
• A-3 – Use this to determine the floor height
2. In modelling the super structure, use SPACE.
3. Model the super structure such that the length of the building is parallel to X-axis.

III. FRAME MODEL (SUB-STRUCTURE)

INSTRUCTION

1. The geometry of the sub-structure model can be found on S-4 pdf Assume that the distance from bottom of
the footing to the top of ground floor beams to be 1.8 m
2. In modelling the sub-structure, use SPACE.
3. Model the sub-structure such that the length of the building is parallel to X-axis.
