Classroom Policies Cell Phones

Receiving or sending cell phone calls or text messages in classroom while the session is on-going is inappropriate and impolite.   Except in emergency
cases and with the instructor’s permission.
Class Attendance & Participation
Regular attendance, as specified by the instructor, is expected of all students.  Extended absence/non-participation  (due to illness or injury) should be
reported to your instructor (and/or to the University Clinic) immediately. A student who has incurred three (3) consecutive unexcused absences or 20%
accumulated absences shall be automatically dropped from the subject.Arrival fifteen (15)minutes after a 3-hour class or thirty (30) minutes after a 5-
hour class has commenced is considered tardiness and three (3) tardiness are equivalent to one-day absence.Students should make good use of their
time if the faculty member does not come within 30 minutes. They shall stay in the classroom or library and observe proper decorum.
Classroom Behavior & Civility
Being a UCC-Public Administration student requires appropriate behavior and respect for others. Instructors can set classroom rules of conduct, require
adherence to standards of civility appropriate to learning, and have the right to admonish and/or report anyone for disruption or obstruction of those
standards, or for violation of any law or existing University policies to concerned school officials for appropriate disciplinary action.
Plagiarism & Cheating
Cheating is obtaining or intentionally giving unauthorized information to create an unfair advantage in an examination, assignment, or classroom
situation. Plagiarism is the act of presenting and claiming words, ideas, data, programming code or creations of others as one's own. Plagiarism may be
intentional - as in a false claim of authorship - or unintentional - as in a failure to document information sources using APA (American Psychological
Association) or other style sheets or manuals adopted by instructors at the University. Presenting ideas in the exact or near exact wording as found in
source material constitutes plagiarism, as does patching together paraphrased statements without in-text citation. Disciplinary action may include a
failing grade on an assignment or test, a failing grade for the course, suspension or expulsion from the college, as described in the existing University
policies.
Smoking
All UCC buildings are designated smoke-free.

FLEXIBLE/BLENDED LEARNING COURSE GUIDELINES:

A. ATTENDANCE – Students are required to attend the 2 hrs synchronous class via Google Meet or Google Classroom. There is a 10% allotted percentage for the attendance. Failure to
attend may only affect the attendance but not the entire activity after the synchronous class. In any case, promptly communicate with the faculty in charge for information and
consideration purposes.

B. ONLINE INTERACTION – The links to access the learning materials are provided. It is expected that students read in advance the topics to be discussed by the Professor in synchronous
class to be able to engage in the online interaction. In an online forum, sharing ideas and answering Professor’s questions are all graded.

C. READING MATERIALS – For asynchronous session, the students are provided with the references which must be downloaded and read. It is the students’ responsibility to follow the
discussions and engaged in independent learning.

D. LEARNING ACTIVITIES – This course guide is designed for students to see the road map of the semester. During the asynchronous session, the students are encouraged to maximize the
allotted time to accomplish and submit outputs. All students are entitled to be part of any learning activity even those who can’t attend the synchronous class.

E. QUIZZES – The faculty in charge will be using the different features of GSuite for the assessment (Google forms, Google docs, and Google sheets).

F. OUTPUTS – Make sure to submit on time the course requirements indicated in this course guide. All submissions must be done via email only, unless the material would demand for link
sharing.
G. WRITTEN EXAM – Expect that a written examination will be administered as part of the assessment. Major examinations still get a high percentage in the grading system.

H. PROJECT AND FINAL OUTPUT – The faculty in charge may still include a project or a final output aside from the activities to be done.

I. GRADING SYSTEM – This new mode of teaching and learning demands for a more creative and effective assessment of students’ performance. Granted with the academic freedom, the
Professor designs this grading system solely for this course using the indicators present, with specific rubrics designed by the faculty in charge and must be disseminated to the students
during the orientation:
