Section: Justice Time allotted: 1 hour

Time started: Time to End:

I. Objectives
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of key concepts, uses and
importance of Statistics, data collection/gathering and the different forms
of data representation, measures of central tendency and measures of
variability.
B. Performance Standard The learners are able to collect and organize data systematically and
compute accurately measures of central tendency and variability and apply
these appropriately in data analysis and interpretation in different fields.
C. Learning Competencies The learners calculate the measure of variability of grouped and
ungrouped data. (M7SP–Ivh–i-1)
D. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a. write the formula in finding standard deviation for ungrouped data.

Attendance Monitor, Lovely, is there any absent among
your classmates today?

Very Good.

Class, do you want to play a game?

Okay class, let’s play a game but before that Students will get the shape pasted

member of group one, if you get a red
number one, that means you are the leader.
Same as the other students that will get the
number 2 and 3. Yes Ma’am.
Is that clear?

Now class, let’s review our past lessons

through a game.

The game is called “Jeopardy Game”. I have

here 9 words that represent 9 questions under
Php 100, Php 300 and Php 500 categories.
Each group will take turns choosing a word
from the 9 categories e.g. “We want
Chevrolet for Php 500”. Group 1 will choose
first, followed by Group 2 and then Group 3.

Each group will be given 15 seconds or less

to answer each selected question correctly.
Groupmates must read the question first and
collaborate before giving the answer through
the group’s show-me board.

If the answer is correct, the team earns the

amount of ‘money’ the question was worth.
That is, they earn 100 points for a Php 100
question.

On the other hand, if the answer is incorrect

or the team failed to answer the question, the
amount of ‘money’ the question was worth
will be subtracted from the group’s point.

The game continues until all words under

each category have been chosen and
questions have been correctly answered.
Yes Ma’am.
The team with the most point wins and will

Students will go to their
respective group areas.

The winner is Group ____ with ___ points.

Now class, those questions and answers that

you give during the game are related with our
topic today.

Before we proceed to our lesson, Let’s play

again a game. Do you still want to play a
game?

Okay. This game is called “Scan Me”. I have

here a set of jumbled QR codes and each QR
code has words with corresponding
operations that you need to solve. After
scanning the QR codes, you will write the Yes Ma’am.
words on the box and you need to arrange all
the results from highest to lowest to form a Yes Ma’am.
set of words. Paste the codes in order on the
paper that I will give to you. Once you are
finished, just clap 3 times and say “we’re
done Ma’am”. After that, post your work on
the board. The first group that will finish first
will get a box of Choco Mucho. The
maximum time to finish the task is 5 minutes.
Make sure that all the members will
participate to be able to finish the task in
time.

2.Lesson Proper
Yes Ma’am.

Okay let’s start. Timer starts now.

The teacher will go around and see if all the

students are cooperating with their
corresponding groups.

What words were formed?

Very Good. That is our topic for today,

Standard Deviation for Ungrouped Data.

Class we will have again a group activity.

You are going to work on a specific task that

will be given to you.

You are going to do this for 10 minutes.

Group leaders, assign task to every member
in your group to ensure participation. Once
you have finished your task, just clap your
hands 3 times and say again “we’re finished
Ma’am”. After that, post your work then go
back to your proper seats. The group that will
finish the task first will be given a plus 5.
Group leaders will be the one to discuss the
answers.

Is that clear?
