1.What is your understanding of Indigenous Science?

Answer: Indigenous Science refers to the science knowledge of all peoples who, as participants in
culture, are affected by the worldview and interests of their home communities and homelands.

2. Why do some people believe in Indigenous Science?

Answer: Indigenous peoples believe they are in charge of the natural environment around them.
Indigenous knowledge is based on a social context that views the world through the lens of social and
spiritual relationships between all living things.

3. Do you think Indigenous Science should be considered science?

Answer: Yes, because science is the pursuit of truth. Traditional knowledge and Indigenous perspectives
are incorporated into Indigenous science, whereas non-Indigenous scientific approaches are commonly
referred to as Western science. They make a significant contribution to modern science when they work
together.

4. What is the role of Indigenous science in the development of Science and Technology?

Answer: The Importance of Indigenous Knowledge in the Advancement of Science and Technology
Indigenous knowledge, in particular, has played a significant role in providing cumulative wisdom passed
down from generation to generation when it comes to understanding ecological relationships and
natural resource management.
