A Bachelor’s Degree in any vocational area 12 months

NCC in Chef or BTEP Certificate in Hospitality Operations 24 months
OR any other equivalent qualification in Food Preparation at Certificate
Level 5
NCC in Hotel & Catering or BTEP Certificate in Hospitality Operations OR 24months
any other equivalent qualification in Hospitality Operations at Certificate
Level 5
BTEP Certificate in Travel & Tourism OR any other equivalent qualification 24months
in Travel and Tourism at Certificate Level 5.
BGCSE with grade C or better in double sciences OR D or better in any 12 Months
two pure sciences. Work experience will be regarded as an added
advantage.
BTEP Foundation in Clothing Design and Textiles or equivalent 12 Months
qualification OR BGCSE with D in Fashion and Fabrics or Art & Design and
English.
Foundation in Sport, Recreation and Leisure certificate OR equivalent 12 Months
level of qualification OR BGSCE with pass in Mathematics and science
related subjects. Sport experience and participation will be an added
advantage.
Foundation in Hair Dressing & Beauty Therapy or BGCSE (‘O’ Level) with 12 Months
Minimum pass of “D” in Science & English
Foundation in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy or equivalent 12 Months
qualification, Or BGCSE (‘O’ Level) with Minimum pass of “E” in Science
and English
Pass in Trade Test B Carpentry and Joinery 12 Months

2. HOW TO APPLY
Interested candidates who are 16 years and above assisted by Parents/Guardians and Educators should complete
the attached application form and attach the following:

(a) Certified copies of educational certificates where possible and Certified Copy of Omang.

(b) At least one reference/profile and statement with records of all achievements from previous
school/rehabilitation or special unit attended.

(c) A confirmation letter from Social Welfare Programme qualifying a candidate as Orphans and Vulnerable
Children (OVC), Remote Area Communities (RAC) and Special Education Needs (SEN)

3. CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

• Interested candidates should complete the application form. Completed application forms should be
sent by surface mail, emailed using fctveadmissions@gov.bw OR hand delivered in a sealed
envelope addressed to the Principal of Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education.

• If sending application by surface mail or hand delivering indicates the name of the programme for which
you have applied for on the envelope.

• Certified copies of educational certificates, transcripts and Omang or Passport (for non-citizens)
must accompany the application.

• For Certificate level programmes preference will be given to applicants who completed the BGCSE or
equivalent within the last TWO (2) years and have never been admitted to any tertiary institutions before.

• Photocopied application forms are accepted.

• Special Dispensation Groups are encouraged to apply.

• Failure to disclose accurate information will result in the applicant being disqualified and their
admission revoked.

• A student is allowed to apply for one program only

NB: Faxed applications will NOT be considered

• Due to COVID 19 protocols there will no written or oral interviews and candidates selection
will be based on credentials as reflected in the academic documents provided.

• Only successful applicants will be responded to.
