2. What is the importance of studying history?

The relevance of studying history is that it aids us in developing judgment on global issues by
knowing previous behavior of people and cultures, it aids us in making proper decisions, and it
benefits us in developing critical skills required for effective citizenship. We won't be able to
comprehend current events if we don't know what happened over the years, because history
can assist individuals in gaining a better knowledge of the circumstances that led to this
particular society's behavior. It is impossible to move forward without first learning about the
past. The primary goal of studying history is to simply gain information about the past, to
understand the causes and consequences of various events, and to recognize current events
and what else we need to prepare for in the future. History is significant in society because it
provides insight into global conflicts by allowing us to comprehend prior views of people and
societies.

We all know the importance of both primary and secondary sources, but what exactly is the
difference between the two? You can quickly see the differences between the two based on the
comparison chart. A primary source is an eyewitness account at the time it was written, first-hand
knowledge from a person who participated in an event, or simply an original work. The primary
sources are essential to history; without them, we would have no basis for learning. Secondary
sources, on the other hand, are records or events that interpret and analyze prior occurrences.
These resources will assist you in comprehending what has been provided.

4. What are your expectations about the subject?

My expectations for this subject are to comprehend and appreciate what happened in the past
because we were not alive when wars, battles, various inventions, and other significant events
occurred. I anticipate that this subject will be enjoyable; we will learn a lot and make comparisons
in the development that existed then and now; we will try comparing the cause and effect of what
happened in the past. And I hope that through discussing the subject, we will realize how essential
history is because you will only understand something if you have known or studied it.
