Manager Capacity Building and Trainings

Work Week : 05 Days/week
Work Hours : 0830 Hrs to 1515 Hrs

Job Summary

WWF-Pakistan is working actively in the water security and stewardship in Pakistan and has
started working with different donors. WWF-Pakistan, through the implementation of
Environmental Standards in a project funded by EU in collaboration with ILO. It will continue
to strengthen the implementation, monitoring, capacity building and supporting the policy
work while supporting dissemination of information and awareness on these matters among
stakeholders. This project aims at supporting compliance with international labour and
environmental standards. The objective is to support the economic integration of Pakistan
into the global and regional economy by increasing exports through improved compliance
with labour and environmental standards and to support the enforcement, implementation
and compliance with the International Labour and Environmental Standards by public and
private sector in Pakistan. Another component of the project is establishing city-wide
partnerships in different cities. WWF-Pakistan is also going to start work with international
brands for the initiation of city-wide partnership on water stewardship. The coordinator
capacity will be responsible for supervising the city-wide partnership sessions, organizing
stakeholders meetings and project awareness sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of Coordinator capacity and policy will be as follows:

• Will be organizing the city-wide partnership sessions for ILES project


• Will be in close liaison with site Chambers, industrial associations, Govt.,
SMEs, city-wide partnership members and stakeholders
• Gathering and managing the data of each site regarding to city-wide
partnership sessions.
• Will be responsible for the execution of activities of ILES project relevant to
capacity building in city-wide partnerships
• Will be in liaison with the relevant Community of Practice for developing the
strategic work of water stewardship in the Indus basin
• Will be responsible for organizing meetings relevant to ‘green financing’ in the
water sector and assist in provision of supply chain mapping data
• Draft the policy brief with the assistance of policy officers on environmental
compliance for the water sector in Pakistan.
• Organize the training workshops/awareness seminars for the city-wide
partnership sessions.
• Facilitating the planned awareness seminars and meetings with social partners
and legal fraternities.
• Working with Financial institutions on green credit guidelines and green
financing
• Building capacity of financial institutions on incorporation of smart
environmental management practices in their green finance policy
• Facilitate in mainstreaming of project management and execution of water
stewardship work according to WWF Pakistan’s 5-year strategy.
• Conduct meetings with policy makers on MEAs and drafting the integrated
framework of MEAs.
• Supervise the training workshops of relevant projects and present the concept of
the project in different meetings.
• Drafting technical reports/progress reports of the projects including drafting
reports/progress reports for donors.
• Contribute technically to relevant proposal development for expanding the water
work in Pakistan.
• Oversee the strategic of water stewardship initiative in the Indus basin

Selection Criteria

• M. Phil Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Engineering/ Textile & Chemical Engg.


• At least 5-7 years of experience in industrial energy efficiency and renewable energy projects
or other relevant projects.
• Having experience of foreign funded projects

Other Skills and Activities

• Proven commitment to nature conservation in Pakistan and/or the region


• Aptitude for team work;
• Having background of Environmental Sciences/Env. Engineering
• Capacity for maintain a productive liaison with the corporate partner ensuring a healthy
partnership
• Technical knowhow of industrial processes (Textile and Leather sector)
• Excellent English and Urdu (reading, writing and speaking skills);
• Proficiency in computers particularly Microsoft Office;
• Familiarity with the community setups and mindsets of the city.
• Event management skills & experience;
• A dynamic, pleasant and communicative personality;
• Ability to motivate and influence others;
• Sensitivity to gender and other current social issues in Pakistan;
• Demonstrated advocacy skills;

• Proficiency in the use of computer office applications on word processing, spread sheet and
presentation;
