Concrete Inserts
Unistrut concrete inserts are manufactured from the standard Unistrut channel and may be installed in floors, walls, or ceilings
for the support of all types of piping, conduit, cable support, and other industrial equipment.
Unistrut channel nuts can be positioned anywhere along the length of the channel, providing a means of attaching fittings or rods
where required.
Unistrut inserts are available pre-filled with an easily removable foam to prevent the ingress of grout and cement.
Concrete inserts can be supplied in pre galvanized, hot dip galvanized and stainless steel finishs.

f = Deflection *
EL L
* Deflections are based on continuity of span
assuming adequate lateral support and use of
fixtures each weighing approximately 11.3Kg
and being 1524mm long. Joiner fittings should
be positioned at one quarter span between
supporting hangers. With fixtures having
600mm spacing results in a deflection of 70 -
80% of above value. 1200mm spacing results
in a deflection of 50 - 60% of above value. 11.3 kg (L= 1524 mm)

Unistrut’s load testing is in accordance with CEI/IEC 61537:2001. 500
In practical terms this covers continuous/multi span installations, W= 50-225
evenly loaded along the length of, and across the full width of the 400
tray. The end spans in these installations should be reduced to 300
0.75 of the intermediate spans.

DEFLECTION: Unistrut’s load and deflection figures are in 1,0 1,5 2,0
accordance with CEI/IEC 61537:2001, with the characteristic L (Span m)
deflection of Unistrut Cable Tray limited to span/100. and load
figures inclusive of a safety factor of 1.7.

To maintain the load/deflection figures stated in the tables, the 1000
couplers should not be located in end spans or over support W= 225-300

medium and heavy duty cable trays. Only one pair of couplers W= 75-150

INTRODUCTION PVC Coating
Unistrut channels and fittings offer total flexibility in design and PVC coating is a thick, soft coating with good anti-corrosion
construction of assemblies for framing applications. properties. It gives a generally good chemical resistance to most
