Offer 21M571 Page 4 from 12

J. Driven friction roll for waste strip:
 A driven take-off roller pulls the waste strip of the fleece material out of the output
shaft of the mask production line by means of frictional force.
 The take-off roller, which is mounted at a height of approx. 2,500 mm (lower edge),
makes it possible to fill a collecting container provided by the customer below.
 The pull-off roller is controlled automatically when the mask production line
starts/stops.
K. Sensors for monitoring:
 Insert nose clip:
Two sensors check the regular application of the nose clip between the fleece layers
as well as the length of the nose clip by means of detected switch/flank changes.
Congestion of the nose bar in the area of the cutter and pusher are thus detected
promptly and the machine is stopped for troubleshooting.
 Knots in the ear band:
A compensator with sensor is added before the first deflection pulley. The ear band
runs through an opening at the end of the compensator.
If there is a knot in the presented ear band on the delivery side, the compensator is
actuated by the knot and a sensor is activated which stops the machine immediately.
 Material jam in the cutting roller and output press belt areas:
Various sensors (light barriers) between the cutting roller and the discharge press belt
and in the area where the residual waste is discharged (tearing of the waste strip)
detect material jams at an early stage and stop the machine as soon as possible after
they occur for troubleshooting.
 Monitoring mask output:
A light barrier monitors the switch/flank changes at the output point of the protective
masks. If there is no switch change during production, the mask production plant is
stopped, assuming a material jam or non-cut protective masks.

Upgrade of two electric actuators for manual position adjustment/change of the
mask centre (folding roller) as well as the cutting position in running direction
(length compensation roller) via the operating panel (HMI) of the mask
production line.
This enables the positions to be adjusted during production without stopping the
production line.

The mechanical adjustment options are replaced by stepper motors in this

upgrade:
 Carriage of the folding roller
 Hand wheel of the length
adjustment roller

11.2 Electric drive for nose clip roll

Upgrade of the currently installed mechanical spindle brake with a motorised drive of the nose clip
bobbin take-up.

Specification of the nose clip rolls:

 core length: max. 260 mm
 Sleeve diameter (inside): 40 - 80 mm
 Outer diameter: max. 370 mm
 Max. Spool weight: max. 15,5 kg

This option includes a motor-driven pick-up spindle. The noseband is pulled in by the machine and in
doing so it elongates the dancer. The motor that drives the reel is then switched on and unwinds the
noseband until the dancer is vertical again.

production line.

Possible inspection criteria:

 Section of the mask in the middle
 Embossing contours available/complete
 Nose clip available/position
 ear loops available/complete

Important note:
The specific material properties and composition of your breathing mask have a direct influence on the
actual possible test criteria. Therefore, an individual verification of the test criteria with your original
masks is absolutely necessary before accepting an order.
