HATs CASE STUDY - TANK
Project Inspection services of tank inspection utilizing HATs at MLNG
Client MALAYSIA LNG GROUP OF COMPANIES Location Project MLNG Plant, Sarawak
Objective To identify damage mechanism occurrence on the tank including its roof, shell & bottom.
• 102 external anomalies (LML) were detected on tank’s elements, included: 45 anomalies on the shell, 26 anomalies on the
bottom, 4 anomalies on the annular plate and 26 anomalies on the roof.
• 3 major anomalies were identified to have 40-50% of metal loss. Verification has been conducted at these anomalies
located at the tank roof (DR-12) by using A-Scan and C-Scan UT.

HATs CASE STUDY - PIPING
Project HATs Inspection Qualification On 10” Pigging Test Loop Facility
Client M&E, PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN. BHD. Location Project INSTEP, Kuala Terengganu
Objective To conduct HATs performance assessment includes, POD, POI and dimension tolerance.
• A total 91 defects with more than 10% metal loss were fabricated on the test spool via reverse CP method.
• HATs inspection was conducted to identify all the defects with tolerance detailed as below;
Methodology
& • Based on HATs inspection result, 86 anomalies were found. Evaluation has been made according to specified parameter as
Result below;
Performance Parameter Result
POD 94.50%
POI 85.70%
Distance From Start Point ±411.7 mm
O'clock Orientation ±12.9°.

MMM CASE STUDY - WELDMENT
Project Provision Of Metal Magnetic Memory (MMM) For Weldment Inspection on Piggable Buried Pipeline
Contractor MedcoEnergi E&P Malaka, Acheh Timur Location Project Alur Siwah Central Processing Station (CPP)
• To determine the SCZs area exist on the weldment of 12inch gas pipeline
Objective
• To validate the selected SCZs using volumetric inspection technology such as UTFD and hardness testing
• CMMM was conducted on 5 welded joint in different locations. 36 anomalies were detected by CMMM and 13 selected
anomalies were conducted by UTM & UTFD for validation. CAT I : 6 anomalied were verified (Anomaly 2, 13,16,20,22 and
23), CAT II: 4 anomalies were verified (Anomaly 4, 9, 15 and 18), CAT III: 3 anomalies were verified (Anomaly 14,17 and
25)
• 4 welded joint were verified using UTFD:- WJ42 (Anomaly 16,17,18,20,22 & 23), WJ11A (Anomaly 9, 13,14 & 15), WJ16
(Anomaly 2 & 4), WJ64 (Anomaly 25). From 8 anomalies out of 13 anomalies are Incomplete Fusion (IF).
