In the midst of the uncertainty and chaos of 2019, 2020 and 2021, with a
heart full of hope, Shambhunath Group of Institutions has been taking new
initiative day by day to uplift the quality education, to felicitate its students
with better entrepreneurship ability and to make them employment ready
in the rapidly changing scenario. Apart from the other attribute research
and development engagement of our faculty members and students is the
main forte of our organisation. I am delighted to bring greetings in this
issue of the publication of Tabloid.
I strongly believe that the Tabloid will serve as a window through which
the complete profile of the academic and co-curricular activities,
achievements and progress made during the stipulated period can be
viewed.

Editor’s Desk
We are glad to present you the July-December, 2021 issue of the SIET,
Department of Business Administration, ODD Semester e-newsletter. The
semester was very challenging for us due to the unprecedented threat of
COVID-19 the mankind has ever faced. Despite of the pandemic,
department committed towards the academic and saw a series of events in
online and offline mode. The semester started from the certificate course on
Advanced Excel. The events like Movie Session on M.S Dhoni and URI-
The Surgical Strike ease the pressure of students and learn the leadership
skill as an outcome. Discussion on ‘The Marriage of Iconic Brands’ and
workshop on Harvard Cases helps the students to solve the critical
problems. Department organized guest lecture, mock drill interview session
and some creative events like collage competition to showcase the student’s
creativity. Semester ends with participation of the students and faculties in
International conference of Big Data Analytics.

Introduction
Tabloid is a Bi-annually e-newsletter of the Shambhunath Institute of Engineering &
Technology. It captures the blend of textual and visual events and activities in different
endeavours and disciplines. The existing information and the images are passionately
contributed by the very supportive students, faculty and administrative staff under the
institute's aegis. The e-newsletter is highly newsworthy to the institute, faculty, staff, other
administrators of higher learning, and the wider public - students. Tabloid leaves a beautiful
trail of the vigorous activities of department. Tabloid can be helpful and aim to reach the
readers composed of the employees and management to inform them of important messages
and information.

The certificate course of seven days in online mode was conducted as per the
schedule mentioned above. MBA third semester students were participants.
Knowledge of advanced Excel is one of the basic required skills in contemporary corporate
scenario. A skill set must have for all budding MBA professionals. Keeping this in mind one
week long online session was organised. It was a certificate course for skill enhancement and
making the students comfortable while using upgraded technology. It was one of the most
successful events organized for well fare of candidates enrolled for the current academic
session.

MOVIES SESSION –I
October 06, 2021
Movies are a brilliant way for students to hear up-to-date authentic speech and be exposed to
various accents. There are countless movies based on an infinite amount of things, you can
use them to introduce or spark discussions about a certain topic, be it a historical event, a
time period or the culture of country. The movie screened was URI-The Surgical Strike.
The session was organized to spread awareness about great personality and their working
environment and challenging life situations so that student can develop and enhance skills to
get motivated and learn leadership.
The movie screened was URI themed on surgical strike done by Indian National Army in
response to the series of terrorist activities. This session was attended more than 200 students
of B.Tech and MBA first year, enrolled for current academic session. The aim was to create
awareness about the issues and making a successful strategy.
Key take away were learning strategic management, patriotism, discipline, responsibility etc.

The glimpse of movie session at seminar hall which ended for three hours
The event was well organised coordinated by student volunteers and faculty members.
Audience included engineering first year batch along with MBA. Actor Lt. Sushant Singh
Rajput played the lead role of MS Dhoni. The movie is inspired by true incidents on life of
great sports person MS Dhoni, who has special significance, fan following and is source of
inspiration for many youngsters.
The movie ended with a question / answer session with audience to understand their
perception towards the event and also know their key take away from the session.

Discussion on
MARRIAGE OF ICONIC BRANDS
October 11, 2021
The event focussed on the merging of two iconic brands from perspective of business and
management. Mergers, acquisitions, takeovers etc are integral part of businesses today. This
current even was a live example of how businesses are run and carried out at different points
of time. This concept and its relevance are of utmost important to all business students. The
event focused on this core concept and turned out to be a move well appreciated by all.
Commenting on the development, N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons Pvt Ltd said, “At
the Tata group, we are delighted to be declared as the winner of the bid for AIR INDIA. This
is a historic moment, and it will be a rare privilege for our group to own and operate the
country’s flag bearer airline. It will be our endeavour to build a world-class airline that makes
every Indian proud. On this occasion, I would like to pay tribute to JRD Tata, pioneer of
Indian aviation, whose memory we cherish.”

Students and workshop organizers Dr. Prateek Khanna, Dr. Mayank Malviya and others
Harvard case studies provided an insight to MBA students about business scenario of MNC’s.
The event was aimed at providing best content at par to students so that they can enrich their
managerial skills as per requirement and want of corporate sector. The students practiced
making real life business decisions, working on the backdrop of original business situations
that arose in United States of America in due course of time. The assigned students made
groups which were required to deliver power point presentations followed by
question/answer sessions from peers and coordinators. Total nine groups are there to present
the case. Case Study topics were:
ECO-FRIENDLY DIWALI

Creating awareness among students for Eco-friendly Diwali helps reduce noise and air
pollution. You can quickly reduce the consumption of energy by opting for eco-friendly.
Earthen lamps are perfect and can easily be disposed of without causing harm to our
atmosphere. Opting for organic colours also helps to avoid any kind of skin irritations.
Prior to the greatest festival of Indian subcontinent, care was taken to ensure safety and health
of all, keeping in mind the business point of view for making the celebration a win-win event.
The students assembled in Lab-4 and both final and first year students were clubbed together
to discuss the merits of Eco-friendly Diwali. It was good to see the coordination between
seniors and their juniors, there was two way healthy discussion and professional
communication among students. Overwhelmed by the ideas, thoughts, innovations students
pledged to keep the tradition on catering local markets, business and social responsibilities in
various capacities.

Guest Lecture On
MANAGING HUMAN RELATIONS IN IT ERA
November 25, 2021
Former Head and Director, MONIRBA, University of Allahabad Prof Ashim Mukherji Sir,
needs no word of introduction. Prof. Mukherji was invited to deliver a guest lecture on
“Managing Human Relations in IT era”. It was an hour long session followed by question-
answer round. Prof. Mukherji received a warm welcome and the event started by lighting of
lamp there by offering a memento and angavastram the symbol of respect and honour. The
event was attended by many external and internal dignitaries & other faculty members.

Final round in continuation with the first mock drill interview session.
Mock interview session-II was in continuation with interview session-I, the session was
designed in such a way that motivates student to speak and share their views on
contemporary issues. It focused on basic etiquette to face the panel, gestures, understanding
the importance of well written curriculum vitae and making responses that are relevant to the
context of interviewer’s questions, facial expressions, eye contact and relevant subject matter.

COLLAGE COMPETITION
December 01, 2021
AIM: To enrich student's experience in pictorial composition through the handling of new
materials. Collage and paper art are very important to students in this period because art helps
them to develop their reasoning, creative, imaginative, and problem solving skills. Doing art
enhances their skills, hand and eye coordination, and helps them to make cognitive advances
such as learning proportions
The students were thrilled with the activity and gave their best performance.
Group-II stood winners for the event; the theme they covered was “The Success
Iceberg”.
Mr. Ubaid Ahmed Khan Faculty of Mechanical Department called as a judge in the
event due to his vast knowledge and creativity.

ORIENTATION
December 11, 2021
One of the most important activities in academics is orientation. Organized in the seminar
hall, where various speakers from different departments took the session & valuable
information about SGI was shared.
The students were motivated to study well, perform good to learn and grow and make
optimum use of resources available to them. The Orientation programme is an opportunity to
introduce the new students to life at the Institute and facilitate a smooth transition with the
new life. The objective is to help both undergraduate postgraduate students to adjust in the
campus through a series of activities and sessions organized in SGI.
It was an interactive session and students participated in two ways communication with
respective speakers. Orientation program ended on a lighter node with refreshments and
snacks were made available to students. Dr. Prateek Khanna, HOD, told about the SGI
Infrastructure with the students such as Labs, Library AI-Labs, digital Classroom and medical
facilities.
