** Note:

1) The brake should be set to hold 60% of the mooring line's minimum breaking load (BS). The brake acts as a
safety device in case the line load becomes excessive, it would slip and allow the line to shed its load before it
breaks.
2) Rendering test is done to record the weight at which the brake slips by noting down the pressure at the jack and
calculating the BHC
3) This test is to be carried out annually.

d: Position diameter of jack in cm

P: Pressure of jack in kg/cm2

R: Diameter of drum in cm

r: Diameter of wire(rope) in cm
