Woman: Hi, Alex.

about making model ships. You have to be
at least eight to do that, so your brother
can come, no problem. The price for that
weekend is £15 if you come on Saturday and
Sunday, or £10 for just one day.

Hello! Do you know how to play chess? Maybe you
like watching other people play, but you don’t play
because you think it’s too difficult?
Now there’s a website that can help you learn to be
a good chess player. It’s called kidschess.
Here’s some information about the game. Chess
is more than 1,000 years old. Two players play in
each game and they use a board with 64 squares.
Each player moves 16 pieces around the board.
To win the game, you need to ‘capture’ the other
player’s king. This move is called ‘checkmate’.
Now, about the website. Children from all around
the world play chess online here. You can have
fun and make new friends, and you can chat to the
other children while you play! There are different
ways to play the game. You can play fast chess or
slow chess against other children. Fast chess takes
just a few minutes to play, but slow chess gives
you lots of time to think – a game can last for three
