You will need:

For the body:

Drops lima – 50gr/100m (65% wool, 35% alpaca). Colour 5310 brown,
or
Katia alabama – 50gr/105m (50% cotton, 50% polyacryl). Colour 09
beige.

For the mane:

Drops alpaka boucle mix – 50gr/140m (80% alpaka, 15% wool, 5%
polyamid) Colour 602

Thread scraps for horns and muzzle, for example cotton yarn
(50gr/125m) Schachenmayr or Ricorumi.

• Safety eyes 6mm (alternatively, you can also embroider the eyes with
black and white embroidery thread or cotton yarn).
• Crochet hook in size 2,5 (when choosing the needle size, please
consider how tightly or loosely you crochet. If you crochet rather
tightly, then take one needle size larger and conversely).
• Embroidery thread for the nose and eyes (black).
• Fibrefill.
• Scissors.
• Wool needle with a blunt point.
• Pointed needle.
• Stitch marker or contrast thread to mark the beginning of the round.
• Pins.
• Jute yarn and little bell jar.

When using same or similar yarn with the same hook size, Scotty will be
approx 12cm tall.

PS: Of course, it is up to you which thread and which needle size you
use. I used the material listed. Just keep in mind that the size of the toy
could differ from the information given by using other yarn and the
needle size. And the choice of colour is all up to you. The important
thing is to be satisfied when the work is done!

Recommendations:

o You start each part of the body with a magic ring, unless otherwise
stated.
o Each parts of the body are worked in rounds using the spiral method
without closing off each round with a slip stitch or turning chain,
unless otherwise stated. It will help to place a marker in the first stich
of each round and move it up as you work.
o Before sewing the body parts together, fix all elements with pins to
find the best position.
o Please read the instructions first and then start working.

Shaping the face

Use a long thread and pointed needle, prick into a back of the head and
come out on the right side of the eye. Then prick on the left side of the
same eye and come out on the right side of the other eye.

Prick left of the eye and come out on the back of the head.

Pull the end of the thread. Now you can pull on both ends, and you will
see, that the eyes are getting inwards. Knot the threads 2 times and hide

Crochet the mane every second row. When moving to the next row prick
into the stich left or right from the last stich, so the mane increases in
the width. See video: https://youtu.be/3V6YqH5wnG4
If you crochet the mane with Teddy yarn, just crochet sc instead of ch
like in the video.
Crochet the mane till round 7 (from the bottom). Fasten off, cut the
thread, and hide the tail into the head.

Completion

Fix the head on the body by using pins. Please take enough time and
find the optimal position because it depends on what the toy will look
like later. Once you found the best position, you can sew the head onto
the body by using sewing thread and wool needle.

Now you can crochet the main on the back.

Fasten a new thread in the round 6 (from

the bottom) and crochet sc round by round
towards the back.

If you have crocheted the main with Teddy

Yarn, just brush it at the end. The main will
look fluffier.
