“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”

The book that I would like to describe, I picked Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
by J. K. Rowling.  This is the fourth novel in a seven-part story about a boy wizard.
It was a book filled with adventure, heartbreak and a few laughs. It told an
interesting story about a Wizarding world and the people inside of it.

Harry Potter has spiky black hair, round black-rimmed glasses, green eyes, a
lightening shaped scar given to him on his forehead as a result of a curse from his
foe Lord Voldemort. Out of all the many things that Harry Potter is, one of his
main personality traits is that he is extremely brave. In this book his courage was
shown during the Tri-Wizard tournament, a rare tournament where young wizards
are chosen to compete for the Tri-Wizard Cup. During these series, the author
reveals to us the main character from a completely different angle. We see already
a young man with the development of various feelings and emotions.

The fourth book begins with Harry seeing Lord Voldemort kill Frank Bryce in a
vision, and waking up in pain from the scar on his forehead. Harry and Hermione
then join the Weasley family at the Quidditch World Cup, where Harry meets
Cedric Diggory, who is there with his father. Following the match, followers of
Voldemort attack the site and for the first time in thirteen years the Dark Mark is
fired into the sky, causing more panic. Winky the elf, of the Barty Crouch Senior
House, is accused of the deed when she is seen with Harry’s wand, which is said
to have released the Mark. Harry had lost the wand during the attack. Hermione
then forms a society to protect the house elves.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts, Dumbledore introduces Alastor Moody as the teacher

of Defense Against the Dark Arts for the year, and announces that the Triwizard
Tournament will be hosted by Hogwarts. Only those aged seventeen or older are
permitted to enter the tournament. Students from other wizarding academies
including Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will stay at Hogwarts for the year to
participate in the event, which is being held for the first time in 202 years.

Not even hoping that Harry will be able to participate in the tournament, somehow,
his name ends up inside the glass and he becomes the first minor participant in the
competition. This confuses him, but he pulls himself together and faces the
inevitable.

Harry learns from Hagrid that the first event in the contest involves dragons.
Harry needs to pass a Hungarian Horntail in order to reach a golden egg
containing a hint that will help him in the next task. To complete the second task,
the main character is forced to solve the riddle of this golden egg.

In order not to pay attention only to the tournament, the author begins to describe
all the beauty of the annual Yule Ball. It is here that we can see how a new feeling
is born in a boy - love. Quite a great feeling, with its own disadvantages and
advantages.

The object of our wizard's love is a student named Cho Chang. The girl is a great
Quidditch player, one of the smartest in the Ravenclaw, and just a good person. It
seemed to Harry that winning her heart was the hardest challenge of his life. And
he wasn't wrong, because Cho Chang only saw the wizard as a friend. As the
result, Harry Potter does not manage to invite her to the ball. The girl chooses a
pair of Cedric Diggory - a good friend of Harry and a rival in the tournament.

The misunderstanding between his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione
Granger, makes Harry feel rather awkward. Despite the quarrels, Harry continues
to get ready for the last task, which is a hedge maze.

In the maze, Harry has to overcome Krum (another player), who is under a spell,
and to save Cedric. Together Harry and Cedric reach the cup and touch it. They
find themselves transported to a graveyard where Cedric is killed by Peter
Pettigrew, who also uses Harry’s blood to resurrect Lord Vlodemort. Voldemort
calls for his Death Eaters and ultimately challenges Harry to a duel. When their
wands make contact, Voldemort’s releases all of the recent spells it has cast and
visions appear of his victims, including Harry’s parents, who distract Voldemort,
allowing Harry to escape to Hogwarts with Cedric's body.

Back at Hogwarts, Harry learns that Alastor Moody is Voldmort’s servant and is
the one who put Harry’s name into the Goblet of Fire. Before Moody is able to
kill Harry, Dumbledore arrives with McGonagall and Snape. As events unravel,
Harry becomes the winner of the Triwizard Tournament.

This book reveals various problems of society. One of them is the unfair treatment
of magical creatures called elves. Without a twinge of conscience, people use them
as their slaves. But here is a good example of how Hermione Granger works hard
so that the elves can get fair pay for their work.

Another problem, is how important to make the right choice and don't be afraid to
take the first step. All this is reflected in the situation with Ron Weasley and
Hermione herself. Because of his uncertainty and timidity, the first one did not
dare to invite the girl to the ball. After that, arguments and misunderstandings
began between teenagers.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a truly incredible story. It shows to you that
anything is possible if you believe in yourself. It opens your eyes to adventure and
sadness, but also new hope. The book was entertaining and I really enjoyed reading
it.
