Tension (in st-st): please note that US equivalent yarns above are comparisons with UK yarns – if in doubt always
check your tension!
Double knitting: 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm. (4 inches) on a 4 mm (US 6) needle.
4-ply: 28 stitches and 36 rows to 10 cm. (4 inches) on a 3 1/4 mm (US 3)needle.
*The pattern is written using the terms ‘larger’ and ‘smaller’ needles. For each size two pairs of needles are given, use
the larger and smaller of these as stated in pattern.
NB: If preferred you can cast on the frill stitches onto a circular needle as there are so many. It is possible to squash
them on straight needles if you don’t like circulars as they are halved and then halved again over the first two rows.
Angel Top Row 2 (MC): P1, *P2tog; rep Break CC and continue in MC
Using larger needles and CC cast from * to end only.

Break CC. Using MC only
continue as follows: Continue to follow the motif chart Shape armholes
until all 11 rows are complete. Row 1: Cast off 3sts, K to end
