Muslim-Friendly Food in Jeju
29 restaurants on Jeju have gained Muslim-friendly certification.
These serve a wide selection of cuisines, including Korean, Middle
Eastern, and Western. There’s even a hotel buffet with a little bit of
everything. Jeju also has one halal-certified eatery. Both Muslim-
friendly and Halal-certified restaurants must pass a test on biannual
basis.

Halal-Certified
Halal-certified restaurants are those that have passed a halal
certification test by an agency recognized by the Korean Ministry of
Food and Drug Safety. These restaurants must hire at least one Muslim
operator or cook. The entire menu is halal.

Muslim-Friendly
Muslim-friendly restaurants are those with a menu that is either partially
or entirely halal. Restaurants that serve both halal and non-halal
food must store the two types of meats separately. Muslim-friendly
restaurants need to indicate which menu items are halal, except in
the case of vegetable or seafood dishes. These restaurants may serve
alcohol.

Beach. The cliffs and golden sand make
this one of my favorite Jeju views.

This was our favorite roller coaster at
Shinhwa Theme Park. The kids loved the
rides, and we found some great deals in

A visit to Morning Smile Farm is the perfect way to start a

2 Seongsan Bomjuk Kalguksu

3 Ilchulland

greenhouse. The park’s highlight is Micheongul Cave, a lava
tunnel created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago.

4 Aquaplanet Jeju
The sea surrounds Jeju, and a visit to Aquaplanet Jeju is
the easiest way to get close to the types of animals that live
there. The large aquarium has several tanks showcasing
48,000 animals representing 500 species.

5 Osulloc Tea Museum
Day two starts at Osulloc Tea Museum, home to one of
Jeju’s tea fields. The main attractions are the museum
that highlights tea-related artifacts from Korean history
and the café that sells a variety of tea-related refreshments,
including ice cream.
6 Chunsimine
Lunch on day two is grilled cutlassfish at Chunsimine.
This tasty Jeju specialty is served alongside plenty of side
dishes. The cutlassfish’s impressive size makes the meal
an unforgettable experience. And while the fish has many
small bones, the server prepares it at your table, making it
easy for kids to eat.
7 Teddy Bear Museum
The Teddy Bear Museum is a fun attraction loved by
families. It’s filled with displays featuring cute stuffed bears
in various situations, including famous scenes from history.
There are also representations of well-known figures such
as Albert Einstein and Vincent van Gogh.
The museum contains a prayer room.
8 Hyeopjae Beach
No trip to Jeju is complete without a visit to one of its
picturesque beaches. Hyeopjae Beach is one of the island’s
most famous due to its clear white sand, turquoise water,

1 Rajmahal Restaurant
Flying to Jeju in the morning means you’re sure to be
hungry when you arrive. Indian restaurant Rajmahal is an
excellent spot to satisfy your hunger. It’s one of the island’s
Muslim-Friendly restaurants and its location in central Jeju
City isn’t far from the airport. The venue sells tasty Indian
food, including curries, biryani, and tandoori chicken.
2 Saebyeol Friends
The next stop is Saebyeol Friends, a small animal farm at
the base of Saebyeol Oreum—one of Jeju’s many volcanic
hills. Here you’ll find animals such as Ostriches, alpacas,
and goats. The farm has plenty of cute photo zones where
you can take pictures with the oreum in the background.
3 Shinhwa Theme Park
The southwest side of Jeju is home to Shinhwa Theme
Park. Here you’ll find plenty of fun rollercoasters and rides
to add some excitement to your trip. The park is also home
to an arcade which is where part of the video for the Oh My
Girl song Dun Dun Dance was shot. The area has hotels,
shopping, and even a waterpark if you want to extend your
stay.
4 The Cliff
After a day’s traveling, you’ll need a rest, and The Cliff is the
perfect spot. It is a café and bar that overlooks the ocean
in Jungmun on Jeju’s south coast. It has a sought-after
combination of beautiful views, comfortable seating, and
tasty food and drinks. The venue is also the location where
Twice shot the video for the song Alcohol-Free.
5 The We Hotel
The We Hotel is a Muslim-friendly hotel on the south side
of Jeju’s Hallasan Mountain. The Muslim-friendly rooms,
which you can reserve in advance, come with a prayer mat,
a copy of the Quran, and access to the on-site prayer room.
The hotel’s location is surrounded by lush forest which
you can explore, making it the perfect place for a relaxing
getaway.
6 Yeomiji Botanical Gardens
After a relaxing night, day two begins with a visit to Yeomiji
Botanical Gardens. The venue’s greenhouses and gardens
are home to over 2,000 plant species from around the
world, including colorful flowers, cacti, and tropical fruits.
And don’t miss the 38-meter high observation tower, which
offers panoramic views out over the surrounding area.
7 Coraggio
Coraggio is a café and brunch restaurant in Seogwipo. It
sells a variety of teas and coffees as well as colorful fruit
smoothies. You can also try various types of brunch,
including pizzas and sandwiches. The café also has a large
outdoor garden area where you can sit when the weather
is nice.
8 Wind 1947
Adrenaline seekers will love the final spot of our trip. Wind
1947 is a cart racing venue with a 1,946-meter track you
can race around while taking in the views of Hallasan
Mountain. Anyone can drive the carts, even beginners, and
it’s possible to either head out on your own or choose a
two-seater cart to share the experience with a friend.
