Hello Abigail, what statistics should clinical personnel consider when making clinical-related

decisions? I am aware that statistics play a crucial role in healthcare research. A study of the

historical events allow the healthcare personnel to explore the probability, logic and other aids

that contribute to the overall understanding of a large majority of health problems. Using the

acquired knowledge enables the health professional to evaluate the common diagnoses and

procedures for handling the health problem. The information also promotes an understanding of

the laws and regulations that must be considered when making modifications to the available

information regarding the health care concern (Scott & Mazhindu, 2014). In another context, the

health administer4sv use statistics to make data-driven decisions instead of guessing. For

example, the health organization management can use past data to determine whether there is a

need to expand the healthcare personnel. This occurs especially in the emergency department

where the patients and available labor must be considered to promote efficiency in healthcare

attention for all patients.

Another example of a use of statistics in healthcare entails predictive analysis. The current trends

in data mining helps the healthcare personnel to predict trends and analyze findings to provide a

clear direction for the most appropriate medical establishment for controlling outbreaks (Nagy et

al., 2010). For instance, health statistics have been previously used to study the trends for

outbreaks such as polio. The historical data helped develop a formal formula for overcoming the

global health concern. Statistical terms and process were developed and used globally to prevent

polio.
