of dietary standards is periodically
evaluated and updated to keep pace
with new knowledge on energy and

Nutritional Guide
Pyramid for Filipino
Teenagers
The food pyramid shows us the groups of
foods that make up a good diet. The daily
nutritional guide pyramid, as model in
preparing meals for teenagers, gives a clear
picture of how much you need to consume
from each food group
1.Go (Energy Giving) represents
carbohydrate-rich food and is a big
as the vegetable portion.
2. Grow (Body-building) represents protein.
Animal-based protein provides more absorbable
iron, while fatty fish two to three times a week
provides fatty acids that protect us from heart
disease.

3. Glow (Body-regulating) occupies one-half of

the plate. Vegetables and fruits contain many
vitamins and minerals that are essential for
regulating body processes.
4. Water is needed for hydration.
