PNU hosts an Outcomes-Based Co-curricular Program (OBCoP)
that provides training for student leaders once a year. Last year, the workshop was held from September 13 to 15, and it was organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Student Services (OSASS) under the direction of its Dean, Dr. Jose M. Ocampo, Jr., with the goal of preparing student-leaders for the upcoming academic year, particularly in terms of conducting student activities. The following day, on the first day of the annual OBCoP Undergraduate Workshop 2021, Prof. Romeo R. Rioflorido, head of the Center for Culture and Sports Development (CCSD), gave a session on CCSD as one of the guest presenters.
Prof. Rioflorido spoke about the Center's major program, the
Culture and Sports Program, which has two branches: Sports Program Design and Culture and Arts Program Design. Varsity Sports Program, Campus Sports Program, Foundation/Grassroots Program, and Specialized Programs, all under the Campus Sports Program, are included in the Sports Program Design. Culture and Arts Program Design, on the other hand, encompasses Talent Development, Talent Enhancement, Cultural Education Capability Building for Pre-Service Teachers, and Cultural Awareness Programs.
Surprisingly, many students and student leaders were unaware of
the university's CCSD, making Prof. Rioflorido's presentation relevant and helpful for both sides. He supplied the Center's services, which include Performance Request, Artistic Direction, and Dissemination of Culture and Arts-Related Information, to both inside and beyond the institution.
Before the lecture ended, Prof. Rioflorido updated all of the
attendees on CCSD's upcoming programs and activities both inside and outside the university, which are intended not only for students but also for administrators and employees. He promised everyone that the Center would deepen its ties and relationships with university officials, students, and external partners, and that it would continue to pursue its mission and goals of promoting sports, arts, and culture.
