Greetings Friends and Family,
A Night for Unraveling is history. Thank you to our hosts Edwin
and Kaye Camp for their hospitality and use of DM Camp
and Sons’ Tractor Museum. We are grateful for delicious food
provided by Too Fat Catering, served by the women from The
Mission at Kern County, cookies baked by Tastries Bakery,
program hosts – Aaron Perlman (23 Eyewitness News/88.3 Life
FM Radio) and Rev. Angelo Frazier (Riverlakes Church), and
worship led by Matthan Hillberg of Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to fun outdoor games, enthusiastic music, a delicious
dinner, exciting prize drawings, and an abundance of opportunity
drawings, we heard ministry reports and honored the memory
of Sheryl’s former mentee, Cynthia Earnest. We celebrated the
recent release of Sheryl’s latest book Unraveling the Lie-Knot:
Finding Freedom from the Tangles of Discouragement, Deception,
and Depression. Some of us have felt like we are in a pit or
tangled up by our past. We must learn to renew our minds – the
only way we can do that is by choosing reflect on God’s Word.

Healing from the past.
Hope for the future.
A stronghold is a belief that has a strong hold on you. We remain
in bondage to our past not because of the traumatic experience
but because of the lies it caused us to believe. With God’s help,
each of us can break free.
We can pray this prayer: Dear Lord, please show me any area
where I am being deceived. I declare James 4:6,7 “Submit
yourselves then to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from
you.” I choose to submit myself to you, Heavenly Father. Because
I choose to resist the devil (say no) I believe he will run away from
me (leave me alone.) God, I want to be close to you. I believe you
will come near to me and give me peace, in Jesus’ name, amen.”
