Was the US justified or unjustified in going to war with Mexico?

There were big wars in the past, but have you heard of the Mexican-American war? In
1821 was the Mexican Independence, in 1845 was the Texas annexation by the US, 1846-1848
was the Mexican war, and in 1848 was the Mexican Cessation. Now we are going to find out if
the US was justified or unjustified in going to war. The US was unjustified in going to war
because of 3 reasons: Polk provoked it, Robbery of Texas, and the growth of Slavery of Texas.

One reason the US was unjustified is that Polk provoked Mexico. He was a strong
believer of Manifest Destiny. He believed that it was God’s plan to kick out Mexicans and let the
USA grows more. He stole Texas from Mexico (Doc.B). This evidence shows that the US was
unjustified in going to war because he thought Manifest Destiny was one of God’s plans.

The second reason the US was unjustified in going to war with Mexico is Robbery. The
US stole Texas (Doc.C), Mexico said they were like bandits about to attack a traveler, and they
were planning on taking California from Mexico. The US was unjustified because they stole
Texas.

The third and final reason is Slavery. Mexico was Anti-slavery (Doc.D). And the US on
the other hand the US wanted slaves. The US was unjustified because the US wanted slaves and
Mexico denied slaves and did not want them around.

The reasons the US was unjustified because of Polk provoked it, Robbery, and slavery
growing. Since Polk believed in Manifest Destiny he wanted America to grow, so he stole Texas,
and had slaves. It is very important to learn about this now because we can learn with facts
instead of made up things. We need to learn this so we can learn how the USA grew to what is
now.
