Ramadan is a very special month; full of rewards and forgiveness for

those who worship Allah.
During this month, Allah has commanded us to fast from the break of
dawn until the sun sets at maghrib. This means we don't eat or drink
anything during day light hours, and keep away from all speech and
actions that displease Allah. Fasting is loved by Allah.
We strive hard to perform extra good deeds and do all the things that
Allah loves. We spend more time reading the Qur'an and reflecting upon
its meaning. We love to offer all our prayers on time and enjoy standing
in the night prayer even more.
We are happy when Ramadan begins and sad when it leaves.
Our sPecIaL meAL
Before we begin a day of fasting, it is super important that we have
something to eat (if we are blessed to have food available to us).
This is a special pre-dawn meal called suhoor. It is something that the
Prophet Muhammad commanded us to eat.

The Prophet said:

The niGhT pRayER
After the five daily prayers, the Prophet Muhammad taught us
that the best prayer is the prayer at night. [2]
We can pray during the night all through the year, but in Ramadan,
the night prayer is even more special and it has the name:

Whoever stands in prayer during the nights of Ramadan wanting to please Allah
alone, Allah will forgive their sins! That is amazing subhanAllah!
The Prophet said:

[3]
LayLAt-uL-qADr
Laylat - ul- Qadr is a special night that occurs during the last 10
nights of Ramadan. Allah tells us it is better than 1000 months!

During the last ten nights of Ramadan, we take even greater care of our ibaadah as
we hope to find the night that Laylat-ul-Qadr falls. We don't know the exact night
when it is, however the Prophet taught us to search for it during the odd nights.

ZakAT-ul-FItR
Zakat-ul-Fitr is a food charity which is given to the poor at the end of Ramadan
and must be given before the E'id prayer [5]

If it is given after
the E'id prayer, then it isn't
considered to be Zakat-ul-Fitr, instead it

The amount of food given

must be equal to a measurement
called a sa'.This is approximately equal to a
bowl measuring 3 litres.[8]

The best time to give

zakat-ul-fitr is in the morning
before the E'id prayer, however it is permissible
to give it a day or two before the day of E'id.

E'id-UL-fiTr [11]
The day of E'id is a joyous occasion. It is a celebration that occurs on the 1st of
Shawwal following the end of Ramadan.
All Muslims, both male and female should attend the E'id prayer (women taking
care to wear correct hijab and not beautify themselves until they return home).
It is a special prayer of two rakah with extra takbir recited. It is followed by a
short khutbah from the imam and is sunnah to offer it outside.

How do you usualy spend E'id? Write a short poem about it or draw a picture.
