THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

SHS students in Andres Bonifacio Integrated School are the ones who are

experiencing the impact of technology even though we’re in global pandemic. All students all

over the world knew about technology, including SHS students of ABIS, that is why we took

them as our subject. In the face of on going pandemic, thousands of school, teachers and

learners all over the world had to switch to remote teaching. Some of the students can go with

the flow of today’s set-up but there more students who can’t keep up, because of being lack

in resources.

On the other hand, we want them to know the impact of technology to their lives and

what else it can help them with. While some of them could successfully continue education

with the help of educational technologies and online learning, many still question the

effectiveness and level of engagement of the latest technology. Increased implementation

of technology will increase students’ comprehension of content and development of skills in

such areas as analytical reasoning, problem solving, information evaluation, and creative

thinking. According to Journals (2020), The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest

disruption of education systems in human history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in

more than 200 countries. Closures of schools, institutions and other learning spaces have

impacted more than 94% of the world’s student population.

However, many of us were already using our phones for the majority of waking hours,

but during the current shelter in place measures, digital technology has become more

important than ever. Now that we are unable to engage in face-to-face contact, remote
communication through our personal digital devices, such as our smartphones, is essential for

staying connected with friends, family and co-workers.

Background of the study

The researchers seek to find the impact of technology to students, for them to know

more about it and have a broad knowledge about how it works. With the incorporation of

technology into schools, the main purpose is to change how teachers and students gather,

access, analyse, present and transmit information. This can democratize information in

classrooms as well as help differentiate instruction, particularly for students with special

needs. Technology allows students to help each other and work together across to better

understand the material.

The researchers believe that this will benefit students and by that future SHS students

will know the impact of technology to them amidst of pandemic, if it is good or bad for them

to utilize it. Technology gives students the chance to learn subjects outside the classroom as

well. It allows for enhanced understanding of the subjects they are already learning. For

instance, if they are taking a business course, they may create a mock up of their own new

business.

Statement of the problem

This study attempt to evaluate the impact of technology to Senior High School

students of Andres Bonifacio Integrated School amidst pandemic.

The following questions are the researchers aims to answer at the end of the study.
 1. What are the different technology that are mostly used by the students?

2. How does technology helps the students amidst pandemic?

3. What are the impact of Technology to Senior High School students of ABIS amidst

pandemic?

Significance of the study

This study entitled ” IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY TO SHS STUDENTS OF

ANDRES BONIFACIO INTEGRATED SCHOOL AMIDS PANDEMIC ” is being created

to research the impact of technology to grade 11 student of ABIS.

Grade 11 Students. The study will research the senior high school grade 11 students

of ABIS because they are the subject in this research

And we will lead them to give an advice if there’s a negative effect to them.

Future Research

The results of this research are important in future research. This research can be a

major analysis to inform people of the effectiveness of technology in education or work in the

midst of a pandemic.

Scope and determination

This study will focus on the Impact of technology to shs student of Andres Bonifacio

Integrated School amidst pandemic. The main purpose of this research is to give people

information regarding to the research.

 The researchers will limit the study to twenty (20) respondents of Andres Bonifacio

Integrated School in grade 11 (4 randomly section). In this research will use a survey to let

the respondent answer.

Definition of term

The essential keywords used in the study have been defined for the sake of clarity.

Pandemic – occurring over a wide geographic area (such as multiple countries or continents)

and typically affecting a significant proportion of the population.

Abruptly – in a sudden and unexpected way.

Online learning – Online learning is education that takes place over the Internet. It is often

referred to as “e- learning” among other terms. However, online learning is just one type of

“distance learning” – the umbrella term for any learning that takes place across.
