2.0 CHECKPOINTS FOR HMBD REVIEW

Check whether vendor is provided HMBDs for Guarantee condition,


dumping condition & other operating conditions as per contract rquirement.
Whether Valve Wide Open (VWO) option is committed to Client. If

Yes check for
(i) VWO option only for STG maximum inlet Flow
Check boiler is seleceted considering VWO option or Not
(ii) VWO option for Maximum inlet flow & Generator Power
The following checks shall be carried out for all the conditions.
2.1 Unit of Measurement (UOM) & Title block Check

2.1.1 Pressure in ata or kg/cm2(a) ( Both units refernce to absolute equal)

2.1.2 Flow in TPH or kg/hr

2.1.3 Temperature in DegC

2.1.4 Enthalpy in kcal/kg or kj/kg


If the UOM indicated in HMBD is not in-line with above inform vendor to

2.8 Extraction Parameters Check
Check the power generation capacity at HPH out condition and same meets

2.8.2 For Process Steam Line if uncontrolled
Check that the bleed pressure selected is sufficiecnt to meet Process
a requirment at our battery limit. The bleed presure should vary at different
operating condition i.e 70%,50% MCR condition.

2.8.3 For Process Steam Line if controlled


Check that the extraction pressure selected is sufficiecnt to meet Process
a requirment at our battery limit and constant for various loading conditions
furnished

2.8.4 For Dearator Heating Steam line


Check the bleed pressure is selected considering the line pressure drop

form STG to DA and DA operating pressure.
b Check the DA is Balanced in Mass and Heat

Check the Make up water temperature. Maximum temperature raise across

deaerator will be 90 deg.C
Check the Condensate return % and Temperature are indicated and it is

balanced
If DA heating steam is taken from Process steam extraction line all above
e
checks to be ensured
2.9 STG Exhaust Parameters Checks

2.9.1 Check the Pressure, Temperature, flow and Enthalpy


Check the dryness fraction of steam at STG exhasut. X=(h-hf)/(hg-hf)
h- Exhaust Enthalpy

hf-Entahlpy of water for that Pressure, temperature
hg-Entahlpy of Steam for that Pressure, temperature
2.9.3 If the condenser is WCC following checks are applicable

a Cooling Water Temperature at Condenser inlet

b Cooling Water Temperature at Condenser outlet


Cross check the design Temprature raise across condenser with Range of

Cooling Tower
d Pressure drop on water side across condenser

e Pressure drop on steam side across the condenser

f Check the cooling water flow across WCC

g Check GSC, SJAE drain temperature and flow are connected to Hotwell

Check the temperature raise in condensate across GSC and SJAE.


h Temperature raise across GSC will be 2 to 5 deg.C and Ejector will be
5deg.C maximum for condensing application.
For Porcess steam mode application condensate temperature raise across

GSC, SJAE is propotional to flow
j Check the Pressure, Flow, Temperature of Condensate at SJAE outlet

2.9.4 If the condenser is ACC following checks are applicable

a Check GSC, SJAE drain temperature and flow are connected to Hotwell

b Check the temperature raise in condensate across GSC and SJAE

c Check the Pressure, Flow, Temperature of Condensate at SJAE outlet

2.10 LPH system if applicable

2.10.1 Check the condensate temperature at LPH outlet


2.10.2 Check the TTD and DCA are in limits
Condensing Type : TTD: Min 6DegC, DCA : Min 3Degc
LPH with Process Bleed : TTD: Full Load Case : 10DegC , Other Cases -
>10DegC
DCA: Full Load Case: >5DegC Upper Limits: NA
2.10.3 Check the steam Pressure at LPH heater inlet
Check the Steam Temperature at LPH inlet. Maximum condensate

temperature raise across LPH will be 45 deg.C
Check sufficient pressure and temp drop is considered for LPH steam from

STG extraction to LPH inlet

2.10.6 Check the Pressure, temperature and Flow at STG extacrtion point.

Check the power generation capacity at LPH out condition and same meets

2.11 If Dumping considered following checks are applicable

2.11.1 Check the % of Dumping in Contract and HMBD
