GROUP PROJECT
B2B NET MARKETPLACE (CHAP 12)

The project assignment is a COMPULSORY part of the course and will contribute 20% to the
final course score. It will therefore, require considerable efforts in time, input as well as critical
thinking from each student. E very group m u s t work independently throughout the project work
including: information searching, data treatment/analysis, material compiling and the final reporting.
Each student within the group must work actively to contribute to the project work and report
writing.

Specific guidelines are listed as below:

1. Students are to form groups with 6 - 8 members each with the a s s u m pt i o n of r u n n i n g


o r s t a r t i n g a B2B E-COMMERCE business. Select a suitable company (dealing in B2B
E-COMMERCE business) and develop a MARKET ANALYSIS on the products/services
provided by the company. The analysis will help your company to understand the needs of
the existing and target customers (B2B business customers) and why did they choose your
product/service over your competitors.

2. Prepare a REPORT on the market analysis. The report must include the INTRODUCTION
that explains on the company and products/services selected and the reason for choosing the
company and products/services. On top of that, please also describe the current situation of the
industry related to the company and products/services chosen.

3. The market analysis must include the following information:


i. Target Customers (B2B Customer – NOT END CONSUMER)
ii. The competitive advantages such as uniqueness (Unique Selling Proposition)
iii. Push/pull factor of product selection
iv. Pricing & Positioning Strategy
v. Promotional Strategy
vi. Online Marketing Strategy
vii. Segmentation
viii. Target Market
ix. Market Need
x. The reliable supply chain
xi. Competition
xii. Barriers to Entry
xiii. Other related contents

4. Conclusion
Based on the market analysis, CONCLUDE the report with explanation on the idea of
entrepreneurial opportunity related to the value added and unserved needs.
REPORTING

A. The report should contain the following features:


(a) Written in ENGLISH
(b) Maximum 20 pages, minimum 15 pages excluding references and appendices
(c) Margin (left 1.5, right, top and bottom 1)
(d) Font Arial; Size 12
(e) 1.5 spacing
(f) Paragraphs
(g) Justify
(h) Page number
(i) Table/Chart
(j) Citation
(k) References
(l) Appendices

B. Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the submission or presentation of work, in any form, which is not one's
own, without acknowledgment of the sources. If a student obtains information or ideas from an
outside source, that source must be acknowledged. Another rule to follow is that any direct quotation
must be placed in quotation marks and the source immediately cited.

Plagiarism is also defined as a copy of all or part of the work of other student(s) of current or
previous batch of this university or another higher learning institution.

The university's degree and other academic awards are given in recognition of the candidate's
personal achievement. Plagiarism is therefore considered as an act of academic fraudulence and an
offence against university discipline.

C. Mode of Referencing

Students are advised to incorporate proper academic modes of referencing. The normally
acceptable mode of academic referencing is the American Psychological Association (APA) system.

D. Allocation of marks: 20/40 Coursework

E. The report must be sent in 2 modes:

 Hardcopy with proper binding - send to PPPJJ office


 Softcopy – upload to e-learning portal in section assignment

F. Report due date

Due date to submit the report will be notified in the e-learning portal.
