Questionnaire
Time schedule Follow the steps of the demo in the webinar but use the provided geometry and values below to
participate in the challenge as they differ from those from the demo of the webinar! Using the wrong
Case description values will lead to different results and hence to wrong answers in the questionnaire. Please use
OMNIS™ 4.1.

Class 2: Challenge Description
Case Description – Extended Duct 4
Time schedule Fill out the questionnaire to participate in the weekly challenge and obtain the certificate at the end of
the course. Please use your academic e-mail for the questionnaire! Otherwise we cannot link your
Case description points to your account. Please use OMNIS™ 4.1. The questionnaire for class 2 will be available here until
3rd November 2020 6pm CET.
Questionnaire
Challenge questions:
1. Unextended elbow duct: What is the maximum x velocity component at the outlet? Please round the
result in m/s to the nearest decimal. (e.g. indicate "6.7" for 6.68 -> or indicate "6.6" for 6.63)
2. Extended elbow duct: Determine the X-coordinate from which no more recirculation occurs, i.e. from
which the speed Vx is no longer negative. Enter the result in m and round it to nearest 2 decimal
places. (e.g. if x = 0.009m -> specify "0.01")
3. Extended elbow duct: How wide is the recirculation area at its widest point (z direction)? Enter
the result as a percentage.
