Names in brackets are used in the original English release of the game, while the others are used in
the HD Remaster. If a skill has no name in brackets, then it was left unchanged between releases.
Physical Skills
Most physical skills which target random/multiple enemies deal 1~2 hits when only 1 target is
present. Otherwise 1~3 hits may distribute on a single target of 5 hits maximally.
"E & I," "Sacrifice" and "Andalucia" deal 1~2 hits on single target of 4 hits maximally.
"Dodge" column denotes the likelihood of the skill being dodged by the target. The higher the
dodge rate of the skill, the higher chance the target will dodge the skill.
Thrust skills
Physical skills which can be learned by most demons with few exception who cannot "thrust"
their bodies as the means of attack.
Needle skills
Claw skills
Physical skills which require the learner grows some sort of sharp "claw."
All claw skills only target a single enemy.
Bite skills
Physical skills which require the learner grow some sharp fangs as the mean of attack.
All bite skills target a single enemy.
Weapon skills

Physical skills which require the learner carrying any kind of weapon on hand.
Damage of all weapon skills scale with the user's maximum HP.
Physical skills which are exclusive to specific users and cannot be passed down to another
demon in fusion.

Almighty-based physical skills that rely on the enemies physical resistance. Cannot be voided,
drained or repelled.
If the target possesses almighty resistance, the user requires the auto skill "Pierce" to ignore
the resistance.

Magic
Apart from a few special skills, most magic-based skills are cast with an MP, or Mana Point
expenditure. The damage inflicted by Magic-based attacks are based on a demon's Magic stat.
Power of HP damaging spells take user's current level and base level into account, but the
formula is not simply the higher level the more powerful. Assuming the magic stat of the spell
user and the defense of the target without modified stat are constant, as the user's level is
getting higher, the resultant damage rises gradually but begins to drop at one point. Damage
typically peaks around level 27, after which the user must actively put points into Magic in
order to prevent it from dropping. Exceptions to this include the Demi-Fiend's Magma Axis,
Surt's Ragnarok and Wind Cutter, which have notably later "peaks."
The recovery amount of HP healing spells (except for Diarahan, Mediarahan and Prayer)
always scale with current level and does not decay like the HP damage spells.

Revives an ally with full HP. 35 MP

Prayer Heals HP fully and cures all ailments to entire party. Only 50 MP
usable in battle.
Holy Melody Instantly restores enemy or ally with the lowest HP to full 1 MP
health and MP.
Fire Skills
Ice Skills
Skills based on the element of ice. They can sometimes cause freeze. A frozen unit is immobilized,
has all physical resistances including repel and drain nullified temporarily and receives 100% critical
damage from physical attacks. Freeze status only lasts until turn swap.
Ice Breath Light ice damage to random enemies. May cause freeze. 9 MP
Glacial Blast Heavy ice damage to random enemies. May cause freeze. 25 MP
Electric Skills
Skills based on the element of electricity. May cause shock. A shocked unit is immobilized and
receives 100% critical damage from physical attacks but does not suffer from nullification of
physical resistances like "freeze" status does. Shock status only lasts until turn swap.
Force Skills
Hell Exhaust Moderate force damage to all enemies that removes all - 15 MP
kaja effects.
Wet Wind Moderate force damage to all enemies. May cause stun.
25 MP
Pazuzu's exclusive skill.
Almighty Skills
Special skills that do not conform to any element. Cannot be voided, drained or repelled. Very few
bosses in the game possess the almighty resistance which greatly reduces the damage dealt by
these skills.
Beast Roar Heavy almighty damage to all enemies and user restores a 37 MP
little HP.
Evil Melody Instantly kills the enemy or ally with the lowest HP. 1 MP
Ineffective on boss enemies.
Expel Skills
Skills associated with expelling evil. Generally used to reduce HP by a certain amount or kill the
enemy.
Death Skills
Skills associated with evil and death. Generally used to instantly kill a target.
Curse Skills
Toxic Cloud Light curse damage to all enemies. May cause poison. 8 MP
Dismal Tune Moderate curse damage to all enemies. May cause mute. 30 MP
Bael's Bane Transforms one enemy into a fly, drastically reducing stats none
and making target weak to Expel.

Support
Support Skills are used to navigate through obstacles in certain dungeons, as well as assisting in
battle.
Buffs
Buff spells revolve around improving all allies' Attack, Magic, Defense or Agility stats. All Buff effects
can be stacked up to four times only. For example, casting a fifth Tarukaja will not have any effect,
as the limit has already been reached. Buff effects will persist until it has been nullified with
Debuff/Canceler spells, or when the battle ends.
Focus Charges own potential damage by 2.5 for the next Physical 5 MP
skill used. If the subsequent physical attack deals multiple
hits, Focus only strengthens the first hit.
Debuffs
Debuff spells revolve around decreasing all enemies' Attack, Magic, Defense or Agility capabilities.
All Debuff effects can be stacked up to four times only. For example, casting a fifth Tarunda will not
have any effect, as the limit has already been reached. Debuff effects will persist until it has been
nullified with Buff/Canceler spells, or when the battle ends.
Provoke Drastically lowers enemies' defense and raises their offense; N/A
user recovers MP. Equal to casting Rakunda twice and
Tarukaja twice on all enemies.

Shields
The main purpose of shield spells is to add a temporary repel effect for a specific attack to the
party.
Tetraja Creates shield which voids one Expel or Death skill. Lasts for 15 MP
the entire battle or until it has blocked one attack. All allies.
Passive Skills
Passive skills are abilities which are innately active and can alter a demon's status to make them
more effective in battle.
Anti- skills do not cover innate weakness, they only reduce damage or success rate of the
incoming attack.

Pierce Physical attacks bypass most kinds of protective properties except for
Repel.
If the ally demon after surviving via Endure is withdrawn back to stock
and summoned to battle again, Endure can be activated again in the
same battle. This loophole can happen infinitely, but it does not benefit
the Demi-fiend himself.

Conversation Skills
Conversation skills revolve around requesting demons to join your ranks. Conversation skills take up
a skill slot but generally do not cost any HP/MP to use. Conversation skills have a wide range of
effects, ranging from recruiting demons to loaning you macca. These skills have a higher chance of
working if the Demi-fiend's level is higher than the targeted demon.
Recruiting demon requires Demi-fiend's own level to be equal to or higher than the target,
otherwise the target will cut off the conversation instantly. Other than that all trade skills do not
take level as a requirement of proceeding the conversation.
Only demons of Neutral tendency respond to recruitment conversation normally, these include
demons of the Beast, Brute, Divine, Fairy, Fallen, Femme, Jirae, Night, Snake and Yoma clans.
During Full Kagutsuchi phase, all Neutral demons including some Dark demons (Foul, Haunt
and Wilder) will have their response to recruitment conversation overridden. They may either
completely ignore the conversation attempt, or ask a nonsensical question. If the demon is
pleased by the answer which is completely random, it will join the party for free.
Unless an instant recruit effect is triggered, the target may ask an ideological question. If the
target is satisfied by the answer, it will always join the party. However, the response to
ideological question seems to be random as well. The same demon can be discontented by
either answers for the same question.
Demi-fiend exclusive
Skill Effect
Jive Talk Allows Demi-fiend to recruit Foul/Haunt/Wilder clan demons under normal
circumstance, instead of relying on encountering a 'dazed' demon during full
Kagutsuchi phase.
Kidnap Adult or youth talker to child target. Child talker to adult or youth target.
Beseech Talker is 10 levels lower than target (65%). Talker is 10 levels higher than target (25%).
Wooing Young male talker to female target. Male talker to male target.
Effective on female target if the female
talker is older and 10 levels higher.
Seduce Young female talker to male target. Male talker to male target.
Death Pact Any target. Petrifies targets occasionally should they refuse. Exclusive to Mithra.

Failed interruption has no adverse effect on the conversation.

Urges an indecisive demon. User is the same clan as the target.

There is an error in the description of the Pulinpa skill in-game. Despite it stating that all
enemies are targeted, it will only target 1 enemy at a time. This was fixed in the HD Remaster.
